If anyone is interested, I think I need to get rid of the car...here is a breakdown:
The Good: 77,000 original miles, 5-speed manual Body is in good shape (black paint), no rust, a few dings but nothing major, overall looks better than 95% of the other DSMs on the road Grey leather seats in car, plus grey cloth seats. Both sets in great condition Factory CD player automatic windows, locks, cruise control, good A/C, great looking window tint all around the car Pinwheel style Eclipse rims KYB AGX 4-way adjustable struts on front, 8 way adjustable shocks on bad, Eibach Pro-Kit springs interior overall in fantastic shape car runs very strong, pretty damn quick for a basically stock 1g fwd The bad: Front Passanger side break rotor needs replaced passanged side halfshaft needs replaced tie-rod ends need replaced problematic 5th gear...pops in and out, needs linkage adjustment, nothing trans related 2nd gear syncro is on its way out...needs replaced. I can get a trans from a 91 with a blown 4th for dirt cheap and you can get it out of there if desired 1 tire needs replaced (its driveable but has dry-rot) timing belt probably needs replaced exhaust rattles because of straight pipe that has been ghetto-installed (not by me, by previous owner) i think the power steering pump needs replaced...can also get that dirt cheap Also, I have a friend with a 91 Laser that does not run but has quite a few good parts on it that he wants to get rid of, he would sell it for well under $500 I'm sure. I want $3,000 for the car, its under what I've invested in it and I really need the money, I'm about to leave for school and I just won't be able to afford this while going to school, and I dont want the car to just sit. Also, I may be a dad soon so yeah...I can't afford it. I might be willing to barter with another vehicle, but probably not for 100% of the cost. I live in Danville, which is 30 minutes east of Champaign...if you want directions or are interested, email me at GusNM15000@aol.com -Nick Mullen 217-597-1782 |

I saw and rode in the car this weekend actually and everything seems pretty much exactly what Nick said above. NICE fwd turbo. Runs hard and is in nice shape.
Let me know if you need those tie-rod ends by the way. Only thing to remember is you'll probably need another alignment after you put them in. Oh, and you might want to PM Rob (POSawd on here) for a tire. I think he has a few pairs lying around his garage for sale. -------------------- |

Thanks man, if I want to keep it I probably will grab those tie-rod ends and stuff...I just gotta get my head straight and find out if my girlfriend is pregnant or not...if she is I definetly need to get rid of it. My dad wants me to get rid of it anyways, but if shes not pregnant and I can somehow get it going good again and be able to afford it, I would love to. Its just a stressful situation right now.
By the way, did you ever find that K&N? If things go well, I would still like to grab it. -Nick |
