Well, I just thought I would let everyone know that the AWD is alive again. Come to find out the BR580 I had on her is trashed and im not planning on getting it fixed for awhile. I have been driving it now for the last few days and its running great. The only problem i have been having is the stock turbo that i am running ( waiting on the new setup to arrive ) is spitting oil out the intake side and if i hold the boost too long she smokes a little bit. Other then that everything is good. Well, except for the fact that i cant log and dont know if Im running any knock.

I ordered my new setup last week and im waiting for it to arrive:

Turbosmart ultragate 38mm external wastegate ( supposed to arrive tomorrow )

Evo III 16g , fully ported w/ external gate (obviously, still waiting on the tracking# )

SBR Stainless Steel Polished tubular header w/ wastegate tube

Stainless Steel oil feedline kit ( from the head because Im not taking anymore chances with high oil pressure problems ) w/ Goodridge oil filter insert

I figured this setup would easily get me into the 12's and be safe for the motor.

Let me know what you guys think? and i will definetly post a pic of the items when i get them!!!!!

first of all, i did in fact get my waste gate yesterday. Awesome i might add!

second I have a question. Why did my car pop the dipstick tube this morning? I was on my way home from work and got into it a little bit and when i got home , just out of curiousity i popped the hood. Guess what i found, the dipstick tube popped out and there was a bit of oil on the hood and valve cover. Why is this? I am running a stock boost controller but its not doing a very good job cause its running 18 psi when i open her up. I know that i probably need to pinch the tube. Let me know guys cause i dont wanna be spittin oil everywhere.

Also, i got the tracking number and my new setup will be here thursday around 1pm. Guess what i will be doing this weekend.

Theory is that it is either a weak dipstick seal or failing piston rings. Good rings will pop out a bad dipstick and bad rings will pop out a good dipstick.

Pinch the dipstick tube with a pair of vise grips at the top, and that should keep it in place. If not, you can wire the stick down to a convenient spot on your engine. Whatever you decide, do something to prevent oil on that exhaust manifold!

well.... DAN! i just wanna get my car done before the baby gets here!!!

Also, i went out and checked and my seal on the dipstick is ripped. So i gotta get a new one and then pinch the tube.

And lord knows that's pretty fast... laugh.gif

I understand what Dan is saying... hopefully you've done a budget and have everything for the baby figured out. We'd hate to see you have to sell the car cause you can't make ends meet after the little one gets here... Good luck! biggthumpup.gif

I don't feel the TJ's financial stability is part of this forums purpose or the place to discuss it.
