I propose that the first weekend in september everybody clear their calendar and everybody that needs work done on their car can meet and we can all pitch in and get everybody done and ready for the race.

I realixe that it would take a 10 stall garage to fit everybody that wants to do some wrenching laugh.gif so I also propose that we can split it up between a couple of places. We should have enough people to get everybody ready for the most part within that one weekend. We could turn it into a weekend meet complete with grilling and the works. I imagine it hasn't been very long for some of you guys but it has been a long time since I spent an entire weekend day a night working an cars. Sounds like a good time to me.

What do you guys think?

Do you mean September 6 and 7 or the weekend before - Labor Day.

Darryl and I will be out of town on the 6 and 7. Oh well, I guess we're busy Labor Day as well because that when Darryl's brother and his wife get home from England.

So never mind. It sounds like a great idea though.

And does someone want to schedule something to fix up Darryl's car between the 21st at Cordova and that next weekend (27th and 28th) so I can go to Maple Grove in PA??

But Susan, you have to make sure he breaks it before you know for sure that you'll have to fix it!

Oh, wait... we're talking about Darryl.... laugh.gif wink.gif

I'd be up for some help, heck, I haven't even got the CYLINDER head off it yet! Unless someone wants to haul my car for me though, it's gonna have to be at my place.

Does that mean that you are volunteering to host one of the locations? biggrin.gif

I have room for about 3 cars other than mine at my house, but I live in Pekin which is out of the way for alot of you I think. The space is open if needed unless somebody volunteers a more cantral location for everybody.

Yes I was refering to the 6th & 7th. I figured everybody already had plans for Labor Day.

If he needs or wants any help before then or after the race feel free to get in touch with me. I don't know exactly how much help I would be but I am not completely incompetent laugh.gif

Sure, as long as the cars are gone when the work is done. wink.gif I don't think the neighbors would appreciate 6 dead DSM's in my driveway. tongue.gif

I wish you all good luck. Sorry we (well Darryl, I am only good for getting drinks for people) won't be able to help.

I was a little harsh. It seems the more negative I think about breaking, the better off we are in the end. Nothing broke at Gateway biggrin.gif So we should be good.

I knocked on wood, so I am good.

I am definetly down for this, as long as its not too far out of my way...I'm in Danville and Normal for school, but I'd have to go back to Danville from Normal to get the car and then to wherever to work on it, so if anyone has a location let me know so I can see if it is feasable.

So is anybody still up for this? Remember the race is only 2 weeks away from this coming Sunday. With enough participation we should be able to get most everybody ready for the race with a couple of weeks left to work out any bugs, break in new parts, and make sure everything is going to hold together (at least as sure as a person can be when it comes to DSM's biggrin.gif ).
