Definately blew the head gasket. Hell, it even shreded the metal sealing ring around the cylinder. Pic attached below.

Question: Any body got a good way to check to see if the head is warped without taking it to a machine shop? I tried a framing square, and it looks ok, but I don't know how much I trust that. Any ideas?

Pic will be in my gallery on CII if anyone is interested.

Rob

Most likely it is warped if you describe the gasket as being that bad. Mine was warped when i first got my car almost .016!!

I think I've already got a hook up with a good 1st gen head. This one will probably get turned into scrap if you guys are that sure that it's warped. This isn't the first problem I've had with this head... dry.gif

Oh well, I guess I can take my bare one and put it back together now and sell it!

Cool, good luck man

I know how much of a pain these heads can be, considering I've owned mine a mont and swapped heads twice. I'm keeping my spare head for right now incase i need any parts off of it like a rocker arm, lifter, or cam (with the problems im having)
