It took a while to finalize the details and get official approval, so this is pretty short notice. We are finally having another autocross in the Peoria area this Saturday.

The event is hosted by the Heart of Illinos Sports Car Club and the Central Illinois Section SAE, sponsored by eServ.

The event will be held in the Caterpillar Mossville Building AC parking lot. The site is located approximately 11 miles north of downtown Peoria. The lot surface is asphalt.

Here is the Schedule of Events:

Saturday, Sept. 20th
7:00AM Volunteer Setup
8:45AM - 10:15AM Driver Arrival and Registration
9:00AM - 10:45AM Tech Inspection
9:00AM - 10:45AM Course Open for Walking
10:45AM Drivers Meeting
11:00AM Heat 1 Runs Begin
12:45PM - 1:30PM Lunch Break
1:30PM Heat 2 Runs Begin
After last car Trophy Presentation

Entry fee is $30.

On-line registration along with driving directions is available here: http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEve...d=9488&psmode=3

Map link:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geoc...4,0.013561&z=16

There will be a limited number of entrants due to the available space, so register on-line now if you plan to run.

Regards,
Marty

Little early for me. If it was in early October I'd definitely go.

Well, how old do you have to be? I'm 16 and I could Auto-X the Cavalier but I'm not sure with age...

You only need to be 16 years old with a valid drivers license. If you are under 18 you will need a parent/guardian present to sign the insurance waiver, however.

Auto-X in Peoria!?! Nice Marty!

I'm not sure I can make this on the short notice, but I am very glad to see a local auto-x. Is this something that will become more regular?

We hope this is the first of more to come. We are in discussions to have 1 or more events next year, contingent on how smoothly this event goes.

Crap, already racing this weekend at Cordova.

What's involved in sponsoring a race? PM or email me any information you have and I may be able to present that to the company I work for. Maybe I can help you out for next year.

I was planning on going to Byron Drag racing with a bunch from CICE. That is also the same day as my 20 year class reunion. So it's a busy day and I'm not sure what I'm going to end up doing.

If on a slim chance I get my Talon licensed and insured in the next 4 days, I'll try to make it..

I was planning on going to Byron as well, but since I don't have the time to get the gears handled in the '01, I think I may try the Scion's hand at the old auto-x... I think it's got about 1500 miles on it, so I'd say it's nice and broken in...

I was about to do the same, but looks like registration is full! Guess Byron it is.

This event was way too much fun. I loved it, but disregarded the sunblock, leaving me looking more like Mr Crabbs than I would care for..

The event... The course was very fast. The first run I netted a 63 second time, leaving it in first for 3/4 of the track.. Talk about an on off switch... My god, this thing is pretty quick at the low boost I was running... Not too bad for getting lost on the track, but fun none the less.

Second run I had a co-pilot and somewhere my processing speed went south and I got lost... again and went off track... No clue on the time on this second run.

After hearing a few loud bangs when hitting the binders, and fighting a hard start issue with the evo, I opted to quit while I was ahead.

Im headed out now to load the aem hardstart fix, hopefully that takes care of it... And perhaps its time to install the harder poly bushings.

Great event, great people. Thanks RacerX11 for making it happen~!

Thanks to everybody that made it out to run or spectate. We got off to a late start, but once running things went smooth. Hopefully this is the first of many more events in the Peoria area.
