I'm sure this is an awkward question, but is there anyone here that works at MMMA that would be willing to get me a supplemental app? I applied in Aug. when they had open hiring but didn't get a call. sad.gif I have heard though that employees can get supplemental applications for other people from Lou Ann Siebenthal (think it's spelled correctly). Anyway if someone would be willing to help I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks!

Well it could be...

Metalforming Machinery Makers Association

Minnesota Mass Municipal Assoc.

MEMS Megapixel Microthruster Arrays

Or the most probable:
Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America

Good job Nate! It is indeed the official name of the plant in Normal. I'm shocked that none of you guys from the Bloomington/Normal Peoria area knew what it was. Anyway if anyone knows someone that works there, maybe you could drop a bug in their ear for me. Thanks! biggrin.gif

Hey Mike thanks for the heads-up...I didn't know it was still called DSM. Basically I'm just looking for some sort of assembly position, I've been around cars and worked with them in one way or another my whole life. I know I would be capable and would enjoy the job. To me $9.80 doesn't sound too bad, but then again I'm a dirt poor 21 y/o college student so I would happy. biggrin.gif Anyway if you could hook me up with someone that might be able to help, I would appreciate it so much!

Bri

To get in on the ass line, you would have to go to the union office or the Unemplyment office in Bloomington. I worked for a company in EP that did maintenance third shift. They cleaned up the ass lines while they were shut down. To be honest with you, I dont know any secret people that you could talk to. My step father is the one that owns the Maintanence company called IPM that works for DSM. I will ask him when I talk to him tonight and will probably post it here later for ya guy. I will also see if he will be able to get me any connections for the ass line. I am always interested in hooking up a brotha!

Jen, my wife is a security guard for MMMA (don't know where the hell diamond star came from) but depending on what you're wanting to do, I know she was saying that the plant was probably going to be hiring here soon. I am sure she would be glad to do some name dropping for ya if ya wanted.

Thanks for the offer! I'm really wanting to get an assembly job, either full time or supplementary. If your wife is willing to help, I'd appreciate it more than you probably realize. I have been wanting to get my foot in the door there for several years and put in an app with IETC once, but never got anything. Now they don't have any applications, so I'm hoping somehow that I can find a way to apply again...I even drove up to the UAW office in Normal today, but no luck. Anyway, thanks again. biggrin.gif

Actually Nate, sorry to have to correct ya here, but from what I hear, MMMA stands for Midget Monkeys Masturbating Anuses.

Hey Eugene! Hook me up because as you may or may not know I am now jobless.

I heard through the grapevine that they are going to be hiring for a new model line at about 18 an hour. Don't know exactly how true that is though.

Not likly at all. My wife works at Mitsu, but she is not UAW. If they ever get any openings, they already have a long list of applicants. Also they might have to call unemployed UAW workers for the job first. It's really hard to get in. You pretty much need to know someone who knows someone.

I hate to say this, but he is completely right. I asked Jen about it, and she said that it is getting to the point to where even knowing someone doesn't do shit for ya. I asked her about it for one other person on the board and she said that she could try and find names for me, but even at that, it wouldn't do shit for helping anyone. I believe what they are telling people (GR4ever correct me if I am wrong here), but for the people to go to the IDES office in Bloomington, I think they are trying to say that if you need a job, this is the place to go instead of having people bug them with Resumes and applications. Sorry I couldn't help more, but I tried.

I don't know anything about the IDES office in Bloomington. I just know that my wife is a manager and she can't get me in. They are not taking aplications as they have too many on file already.

Well Serbd97 I appreciate you at least taking the time to try....that certainly means alot! I put in an app at IETC in Aug. maybe I'll try IDES soon. They already have me on file I guess...do they keep those apps for a while? I just assumed that I was out since I haven't gotten a call back...maybe not though? Anyway, please tell your wife thank you for trying as well...I appreciate that you guys took time to try to help me.
