I think Kris, Rob, Travis, and Dan account for half of the turbo DSM's and parts in central Illinois.

That thing looks clean! Care to share the details? I'm currently shopping another one too. You might be the king of parts cars but I can't let you be an undisputed king.

A few details on the car....
1992 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 5spd MT 145,000 miles, 15,000 on top end apparently Seems to be in good condition in and out Need's a tranny rebuild... 2nd's gone apparently Unless something major is discovered, this will not be a parts car. I'm hoping that it will become the next Project POS... That's right MY car... Things I'm looking forward to - 92-94 body style plus a talon at that (I've always liked the way they looked), Sunroof, no roll bar, full interior trim, A/C (I'm hoping), and a relatively virgin car. I came across this just as I was getting ready to do some major stuff to the red car, I don't know wether it's luck, fate, or just a bad habit... probably the latter. Let the flaming begin!!! -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

92 FWD engine swapped into 92 AWD complete drivetrain swapped into '90 AWD. Now that is some serious literal chassis swapping.

QUOTE (natedogg @ Oct 30 2003, 02:06 PM) I don't know what you guys' problem is. I'm still on my original engine. Well the first engine was toast when it came to me. Second engine was a stock rebuild. Current engine is a little more 'built'. You of all people should know how the upgrade bug gets you. Oh, and we'll see how long that 'original' engine lasts with the turbo that's bigger than my apartment you're abusing it with. -------------------- |

Yeah, I rebuilt it. Still the original engine though. It still ran when I rebuilt it too. Just not as well as it should have.
Still has basically stock bottom end (rods and such). 2G pistons and bs shafts removed were the only 'power' upgrades. I actually expect it to long outlast my drivetrain. Stock 4G63T's have lived fairly long lives up to 450-500 hp. I expect the next thing to break on my car to be the center diff. But that's all speculation. You never really can tell what will happen next with these little powerhouses. Btw, the car was feeling awesome last night in the cold weather. Seems to be pulling even harder than it did at the track. Going through the tunnels in Morton is always fun. Talk about overloading your eardrums with the entire frequency spectrum. The whine of the turbo, the growl of the exhaust, the pssshhhttt of the BOV, and the downright pissed off sound of the external WG dump (tends to drown everything else out when the WG opens). If you haven't done it yet, I suggest it. Its fuuuun! |
