Anybody have an idea why my car grinds in 1st and 2nd on a cold startup? It's a daily thing.
Could it be the tranny fliud? Or shift linkage? Once the car is warm it's not really a probelm only when it's cold. |

Even my Evo gets really notchy in the cold weather before she warms. Doesn't grind though. You might want to try a different transmission oil before committing to a transmission rebuild. I suggest Pennzoil syncromesh, but I've also heard good things about BG syncroshift and Redline and mixtures thereof.

Pennzoil syncromesh = GM syncromesh
Pennzoil syncromesh price < GM synchromesh price |

QUOTE (POS AWD @ Jan 16 2004, 11:46 AM) Syncros... Time for a rebuild! If that's the fact I'm going to have to thank Twin Turbo for the great deal I got on this car... First Turbo seals are shot now..... Possibly the Syncros. That will be twice I've been told these pieces are good and they are really not. I will have it check out ASAP. |
