apparently a stripped interior stealth with just shy of 1100 crank horsepower (750awhp) went 9.7@151mph tonight.

The powertrain in a full weight car was going 10.7@~137mph so the 100lbs off = .1 ET and +1mph seems pretty true, as the car weighs a little over 1000lbs less than a full weight VR4 (so I'm told)

That's a lot of weight for a vr4 to shed... although I suppose I can see it. The weight of just the interior panels as compared to a DSM is enourmus!

QUOTE (awd4kicks @ Jul 10 2006, 11:31 PM) Bout time... Now when are they going to catch up to their little bros? It could happen, this was on a stock 2980cc motor that was thrown together with new bearings, a hone, and just rods/shit around the shop. There is a new 3.7L stroker crank out that uses some insane Ford rods and should hold a LOT more power, AND nitrous. The shit isn't cheap though, the turbo kit he was using is $7,000 alone, not to mention his $2700 clutch, etc.. Those were his Dual BB DR1000s, he's supposedly got some DR1200s with the same center cartridge that should give even MORE top end. I'm hoping he could run a sub 9.5 in the car at Houston, but for now it's all at 3600 feet. -------------------- |

Its not going to happen Our breed of cars are just too heavy I bet if you and I dropped 1000lbs off our cars though the Honda guys would fall off the 'they gon suck our dick' tree and hit every branch on the way down. I can't even imagine how fun the car would be to drive, although I would probably need coilovers as the suspension would be...funky. -------------------- |

Oh I know we can still make good progress. Not many people want to drive around in a stripped car however.
There are a handful of Z's in the 9's this year so far, this particular Z went 9.86@121 (stabbed the breaks so he wouldnt get booted for not being certified for 9's) He also has gone 9.48 (no nitrous) so far this year http://www.jmattphoto.com/vids/RZT9.86pass_MVI.AVI -------------------- 1990 Nissan 300ZX T
