For those of you that feel your stock (or near it) DSM is worthy of a challenge, feel free to speak up. My money says I've got a 1-cylinder that's capable of devouring it in an 1/8th mile event. Word has it, a very similar contraption with bald meats executed an 1/8th mile operation very close to that of my old AWD Talon. I suppose I'm merely toying with the idea of knowing how mine stacks up. Here's a hint as to what I'm packing....

meh, the Talon isn't starting again. Not sure exactly whats wrong with it, haven't really bothered much as its sitting in the parking lot right now.
Gonna put it in storage this/next week, so I'll probably jack with it then. I'm thinking something got messed up when we put everything back together. |

QUOTE (Spyonu2007 @ Aug 21 2007, 09:41 PM) Wades penis must of fallen off, challenging 15 second cars to a race. IVe got an evo for you. I'll start with the 15sec cars and and move my way up from there. Mine's made for dirt not pavement. It's like asking a Baja truck to race your Pro Street car, it just doesn't make sense. I'm just curious how this thing stacks up against everything else. I don't think I've ever ridden an ATV that was this fast... let alone owned one. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

Top speed is about 75mph. It's geared for acceleration, not top end so 1/8th mile is about all it's got.
Besides, that's all a stock AWD is good for. The top end of a near stock AWD is teh suck! -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

Could be a faulty starter as they ARE remanufactured, but not likely. Do some digging and try to figure it out. If you don't I can probably drop by sometime. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

It sounds really dumb. but i had the same issues with my starter... it was more the crappy buildup on my battery terminals and not really the starter. I'm sure you've done that... but again, sometimes it's overlooked Sorry for hacking the thread -------------------- -The original (member) 007. Stop looking at me Spy!!

no big deal!
I already checked the battery, it seems to be just fine. It probably needs a charge now, but thats no big deal. I would have tore into the car a lot earlier but I just moved and there isn't any room in the garage for the Talon, even just to work on it. I think we are picking up a storage unit next week though so then I'll have plenty of time and room for it. I just don't feel like tearing it apart in the parking lot outside in the dark when I get off work. Like I said, I have a feeling something just didn't get put together right on the re-assembly. In the meantime the Maxima is serving me just fine, although I am starting to get the itch for boost a bit. |

Sounds like a plan! Sadly it would probly be close, I'm battling a really bad push right now. So all i can do is drag race down the straightaways.
..........hey buddy, can I get a push start? -------------------- Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! AND WASH THAT THING OFF BEFORE YOU COME BACK!!! GROSS

More throttle and turn-in harder should fix it. Make it slide like it was meant to.
