Yes, the garage has been down for a while. I've had a couple guys look at it with no improvement. To utilize this feature, which was first brought to the central Illinois area by DSMCentral... I feel that the software may need to be updated. We are running on a fairly old system.

t this point I would again like to ask for help from someone with good web design and administration skills.

Any help or ideas are welcome.

Let me see what I can dig up about upgrading Invision. I haven't done much with it, but can probably figure it out, and that would be easier than converting to some new software. My design skills suck, but I can usually make things work.

Invision is going to be expensive to upgrade, and I'm guessing there's no interest in paying for it. Let me see what I can come up with for a free option.

As of now I'm seeing interest in features like:

Classifieds
Garage
Gallery
Calendar?

If you'd like to see anything different/more features, let me know. I can mock up a site on my webhost and we can go from there.

Here's an example mod I'm looking at:

I think it depends how expensive the Invision upgrade would be. If it meant we get to keep all the old history that is on this web site, it might make sense to upgrade. For the most part this site has been made free to everyone. This may be important enough to the active members to kick in some donations for an upgrade if the expense is to much for me to pay myself.

BTW - Thanks for looking into it. biggthumpup.gif

Sure thing. There are usually conversion options as well, so if it'd be possible to convert to one of the free boards such as PHPBB, then that would probably be the better way to go. I need to do some digging and see what I can find out.

Hey is there any way you can get me a backup of the forums as they sit? I really just need the database backup.

Here's a link to what I'm working on. The Garage mod is being a pain, but it's coming together slowly, so if you find something that's not working, just ignore it for now. I'll be adding in some more mods as well. If you guys like it, great, I should be able to convert over the old messages and such. If not no biggy, we can look at the new version of IPB.

That's all in the style templates. There's a couple good places we can get new styles from, if you see any you like let me know and I'll put them up. Will take me a little work to modify them for the garage mod, but no biggy.

I still am thinking about adding a gallery, though that may not be necessary once I get all of the garage stuff functioning properly, and would like to throw a Classifieds mod and calendar on there as well.

Thumbnails are working for car pictures in garage, as far as I can tell everything is working right, but could use some testers. If anyone's bored and feels like creating an account/some cars, hop on there and I'll make sure you have access.

That garage is still broken, and probly won't be fixed. The new one I'm working on is at:

just to clarify, the current version doesn't look like it can be fixed easily. The version I'm working on is just an option for replacement. There is also an upgrade available to the Invision software that *should* fix the current issues. I'm just providing a potential solution, Kicks will decide what's best for the site biggrin.gif

If you'd like, I could take a look at your current back end code sometime. It seems to give pretty detailed error messages, so I may be able to fix it. But I'd need to have access of some sort to the source. And I always back up everything before I work on it. PM me if you want me to mess with it.

Edit: wow, I never looked real close at the errors before, so I feel dumb now, as that's basically the same issues I fixed on the Garage mod i was working on. I definately can get it going again biggrin.gif
