Coming home from work this afternoon, I noticed that the glass portion of the driver's side power mirror on my 93 GSX was shaking. When I got home I checked it and it is loose. I can move it about 1/8" in/out. How are these things put together? Is there a screw in there that is loose or did something come unglued? Is it fixable or do I need an entire new mirror including the black plastic mount? I didn't find anything in VFAQ for mirrors and my Chilton manual only talks about replacing the whole unit.

Since we finally got some decent weather today, I was able to dismantle the mirror and found that three screws hold the inards in place. Two are on the left side and can be accessed by cranking the mirror all the way to the right. Then you can just get at them past the mirror itself. The other one can only be reached after the mirror is taken off of the car because it is on the side facing the car.
On the left side, there are two plastic tabs that hold the power mechanism to the metal frame inside the black plastic housing. In my case, one of those two tabs broke off. So, I took part of a wire hanger and wrapped it around what was left of the tab and the metal frame. Tada ! No more wobble. -------------------- 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - all options except AT & leather *sold*
