I fucking wrecked the car today about 3 pm! Auuaauaahhhh! I can't fucking believe my luck. I think I am done with the DSM .

I was going down this country road about 55mph. Coming up on a hill and top it. At the top of the hill it turns into gravel. And there is a S10 in the middle of the road. He don't fucking move! I hit the brakes and by that time I am in the gravel. Brakes lock up so I let up on them so it will get traction and hopefully I don't hit this dumbass! Tires grabed like I thought they would and jerked the car out of the S10 way. Then it was all hydroplaneing from there on the rocks. Went in the ditch on the right side came back up out of the ditch slideways. And then the rear shot back to the left and I was in the left side ditch. Somehow I got the rear out of the ditch and was stareing out the passenger window. Then the car just kept sliding and I thought about all the worst things that could happen at that point. Like what if the fucker grabs cement under this gravel? Then all I am going to do is flip. The car finally came to a abrupt stop. I didn't even get out of the car, I just tried to start it.

Well it didn't start the first 5 minutes I tried. I even had enough time to go into DSM Link and activate the fuel pump. Still didn't work, So it was time to get out of the car. I didn't even look at the damage. I just went straight to where the battery was supposed to be. The battery was in the spare tire area when I looked. I picked up the battery and put it back. I noticed that it riped the fuel pump wire off. I did a quick twist on the wires and closed the deck lid. Went back up and she started on the first try. So then I drove it home and then looked at the damage.

Now while all that was going on! The guy in the S10 doesn't even turn around to see if I am ok. Didn't stop ask if I need help or anything. CAN YOU FUCKING BELIEVE THAT? This **** runs me off the road and then doesn't even stop.

All I know is I was trying to save my car. Well I failed misserably at it. I tore of the passenger mirror with what I think was a tree. The drivers side rear bumper was ripped out also with what I think was a tree. The passengers side of the car got the worst of everything. I haven't raised the hood to see if I fucked anything up under there. The passenger side rear quarter panel is all smoothed down by the tree also. The rear bumper is fucked beyond repair.

Now I have a car that is going to need a shit load of repairs to the body. Hell I don't even know if the thing runs straight down the road anymore.

I will post pics up later of the damage!

Yeah I am alright.

No insurance, was working on it today and the girlfriend told me we didn't have the funds. So I blew it off.

The ruck I could spot with both eyes closed. The little bastard! I have seen him running around town before.

I have a parts car that I can get most of the parts to fix it with. It is just all the welding of the body panels now that is going to cost.

It is my own fault for not gettting the insurance when I had the chance. I am going to fix it though. It will just be a while before I can drive it again.

I looked under the hood and the only thing it did there was pop a IC coupler off. It ran fine on the way home. I also found a seam that is split behind the drivers wheel. And at one point I had to be going backwards because the mirror was ripped off from the rear to the front. Had no clue.

Ouch, I lost my first DSM to an accident. A Dodge intrepid t-boned me and pushed me off the road into some bushes, although it was her fault and I got a pretty fair amount of money for the car. It twisted the unibody pretty good, so I didn't really feel like fixing it.

That sucks man...at least you didn't hit the truck. That could of messed you up, along with the car.

You wouldn't have got much sympathy from the cops either without having insurance.

I'm sure you'll rebuild it better!

Hell yeah! I should be up on Saturday to get it from scorps house. I will bring it home and start tearing into it. My brother in law is going to bring his plasma cutter over and we are going to cut it up.
I should be buying a welder and learning how to weld in the process. I am just unsure when I will get the welder.

You should be getting insurance, not a welder. What would you be saying if a treebranch had come through the window and knocked your teeth out.

I would if I were going to be driving it still. But as of now it is going in the garage to be tore apart. I will be working none stop on this thing from now on.
And yes those thoughts went through my head also. It is the only time in my life I was worried about who is going to take care of my kids. I am not going to lie to you guys. I was scard shitless! Before it gets pulled out of the garage the next time it will have full coverage.

I bought a welder last night for $90.00

It is time to relearn how to weld! biggthumpup.gif

Has anyone replaced body panels before?

Should I split them on all the seams or just cut out what I need?

How do you remove a 2g rear side window?

I already have all the unboltable parts off and layed out in the front yard, LOL. biggthumpup.gif

QUARTER WINDOW GLASS ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
(1) For protection of the body (coated surface); apply cloth tape to all around the body where the glass is installed.
(2) Using a cutter knife, cut off the quarter window molding along its edge.
(3) Run a wire between the glass and the body at the upper portion of the quarter window and pull it back and forth along the glass to cut through the adhesive. When doing so, pay attention to the clip grommet.
Caution - Hold the window glass with the glass holders to prevent it from falling when the adhesive cuts through.
(4) Using a sharp knife, scoop out existing adhesive from the body flange to 2 mm (.08 in.) or less thickness all around the window opening.
(5) Finish smooth the flange surface.
Caution
---1. Do not remove the adhesive more than necessary.
---2. Use care not to damage the coated surface of the body with the knife. If it is damaged, apply retouch paint or anti-corrosive.

(6) Degrease using with isopropyl alcohol.
Caution - After degreasing, allow three minutes or more to dry well before next work. Do not touch the degreased surface.

i would just cut out what you need. i would not cut it with a plasma. use a grinder or those sheet metal nibblers. when you weld it back together have a bucket of cold water and a rag. only weld about a 1/2 inch at a time and cool it with the rag. alot of heat on that thin of metal and it will oil can like crazy. and when you grind down the weld cool that as well

agreed. Ive never done it before, but use to always watch the muscle car show and trucks on Spike TV cause i love to watch other people work on cars for a change, and thats how i remember them always doing it. Tack weld the whole piece in, alternating your tacks so you dont build up too much heat. If you tried to weld in a line from one end to the other your gonna warp it like crazy. Its gonna probably be pretty time consuming, but go slow and allow the piece time to cool off
