Chris has motivated me into finally pulling the cylinder head to see what's going on with the Talon. So This Saturday we will see what we have in there to work with and determin a solution to get it on the road.

It's been a while since I've put a wrench to her. Kinda looking forward to it. Especially with some good helpful company.

Well Chris and I pulled the cylinder head off in short order. I was correct that there was some confilct between the number one cylinder and the valves. Unfortunately it wasn't for a reason I had anticipated. There is some slop in the number one piston stroke causing contact with the cylinder head. So there is trouble in the bottom end as well. Probably a bad rod bearing. That's too bad since it is a Buscher Stage three bottom end with less than 5000 miles on it.

well it sucks that you have to pull the whole engine, but if the crank is only just scored a little bit, I have a buddy with a polisher. He did Patterson's crank for his wife's car and it came out well. Worth a shot at least. Hopefully will be able to get away with just a rod and some bearings worst case. Or might get lucky and just have a piston bad (pin hole whopped out, etc)

Well if I were to put it back together I would be looking for a stroker motor. Right now that's not high on my priority list unless there is a super deal out there somewhere.

If you're still looking for a stroker shortblock, you can have my old one for free. It does need new rings at a minimum, and new pistons wouldn't hurt.

I agree that is pretty awesome! That does sound like the super deal that may get me off of dead center. Where are you located these days? Are you still in Champaign area? Message me on FB or e-mail if you don't want to post it here.

Thanks,
Marcus
