Can we get some type of cap on post editing?
I understand the idea of being able to edit posts to correct grammar, spelling, and clarification... to a point. Most forums have a cap that doesn't allow you to edit after ~15minutes though. There seem to be a rash of magically re-appearing and disappearing posts and threads lately though. From my standpoint the issue comes to be a damage done, post made, mud-slung, but now it's gone so I don't know what you're talking about. Specificly I'm not referring to admin deletion or moderating of threads but rather the ability to go back to a post and pull a "ninja poof" vanish or change the post. Perhaps done to elicit a reaction, leave the reactive posts in place, and then look innocent. Regardless it would be nice to have a degree of stability to posts and threads. -------------------- |

QUOTE (spyonu2007 @ Jul 27 2005, 12:34 AM) Perhaps the koumotorsport Admin could make that happen for you. My impression was that Xian was adminning primarily for the purpose of backend issues. Additionally I try not to put him in any situations that might be a conflict of interest. I'd posted it here so that I could be shot down by the member base and informed of why that would be a bad idea if that were the case. The suggestion was made to push for less fluctuation in threads and a more stable board. I was actually unaware that you were officially a mod. Looking at the moderator list in the link here: http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.p...ts&CODE=leaders Your name was not present until today. Although when I click on it now you appear to have added it. -------------------- |

I have never abused or even used my admin powers for the purpose of forum moderation.
There have only been two times that i have used the powers for stuff other than back end help, Once when spy kept changing KOU In3's user account, and once when Spy posted a Private Message from me. -------------------- game over.

yes spy, you're always fighting everyone... or atleast someone.
QUOTE Perhaps the koumotorsport Admin could make that happen for you. I was just explaining that while I do have the powers to make post editing go away, and that to your suggestion I could do it... That forum moderation is not the reason marcus gave me those powers that are greater than yours. that is why i am green and you are red. mwuahahahahahaha -------------------- game over.

QUOTE Its looking like your stepping outside your bounds. and just how so spyguy? by undoing the account changes you made to a paid vendor of the site? by answering questions that ask why something is locked? to which my answer was that it's probally spy up to something? -------------------- game over.

I guess overall this contributes to my comment on editing.
I'm not clear on exactly if this goes beyond general post editing or if there is some mod-war I've accidently opened Pandora's box on. I was just hoping for some stability where forum discussions are moderated by the mods and threads and posts are stable to some degree. -------------------- |
