looks like, if things play out well, there'll be a nice turbo upgrade to the stang in the future. Thanks Aka!

Not sure at this point, still waiting on Gross to get me the specs. He got it for his Evo back when he first started upgrading it (remember him having issues), and it was too big, couldn't get it to spool up right, so he ended up going back to stock, then got another down the road. He thought it was ideal for about a 4L engine, so will be a little small, but should make good power still.

Roll cage is finally done, head liner back in place. Gotta finish priming the cage/install roll bar padding. Next step is priming the floor, installing the soundproofing, carpet, and seats. Tuner chip came back from upgrade yesterday, however they left off the connector for my tune selector nob ><. Hoping they send it out soon. Bout all that's left after that is rear brake lines and I'm in business.

brake lines done, just need to find the right fittings for the calipers and can get them bled. Hoping to have that done by Thurs. If I can scrape up the extra cash, may even get it licensed by this weekend so I can take it out for a spin. Though have to be careful until I can get the leaf spring and brake brackets welded to the axle...

Brake system is finished. Car is basically ready to drive, other than welding the axle brackets. Will probably tack weld axles and brakes sometime in Jan when I have more free time, so it's ready to haul to my dad's shop (or somewhere with a bigger welder).
I had thought about getting it licensed to drive/tune it, but don't see much point right now. I think I'll simply trailer it back to my parents timber, where I can take it on the 1/8 mile dirt track and put it through the paces, to get it dialed in. Also have lots of nice open country land there I can cruise on. In the meantime, think I'm gonna build a good speaker box, put some subs/tops in the back, and fab up a head unit mount so I can have some tunes. -------------------- 1978 Mustang II King Cobra

weather was nice last night, so opened up the garage and did a little welding on the rear end. Got the leaf spring and brake caliper brackets welded in place, so rear end stuff is good to go. Now just need some track time to get it tuned, hoping to have the van done so I can pull it to fairbury on the 15/16th

New updates. Decided i didn't have time to mess with tuning, and my priorities are shifting, so the Fuel Injection stuff is gone, got a 4bbl manifold from Marcus, holley 650 double pumper on ebay, MSD 6AL from a buddy. Going mechanical fuel pump, which is somewhat of a pain since the 89 engine I have was electric and doesn't have the fuel pump eccentric. So have to pull the timing cover and install one, along with making a new cam dowel pin to hold everything in place. Had to remove the return line, and reroute the primary feed line.
got everything pulled down as far as I could last night without having a balancer puller (mine broke recently, bah), and got the lines rerouted and filter remounted. Tonight gonna wire up the oil pressure and coolant temp senders, and maybe mount the msd/coil. Hopefully Sunday will be able to get the eccentric on and fuel pump mounted, then when the rest of my parts come in next week will be ready to fire it up. -------------------- 1978 Mustang II King Cobra

Update.
Fuel pump eccentric installed, fuel pump installed and carb plumbed. Need some float/metering block gaskets for the carb, as they ones on it have dried/etc and leak. So that was prob #1. Got MSD installed and connected up, but the ign wire i used was only hot in run, not start, so had to fix that, now got good spark. Used a distributor for an 83 Bronco 5.0 (Richporter FD30, good quality dist). Comes with steel gear that works with ford hyd roller cams, and uses a magnetic pickup like what the MSD dists use. Has mech/vac advance. Got dist, cap adapter, rotor, and MSD wiring adapter for $120 total, about half price of MSD's billet dist at 250ish + shipping. Next step get carb seals changed, reinstall carb, then fire that beast up. -------------------- 1978 Mustang II King Cobra

Was able to get it fired up and running. Still got a small fuel leak on the primary float bowl. Can't tell if the bowl is cracked or if it's leaking around the accelerator pump. But that's minor. Ran well, got timing set close, so good to go.
