Just wanting to know if anyone of you guys know of a place that can resurface and hone out the bore of the cam journals on a dsm cylinder head? I have a head that has a few rough cam caps and dont wanna risk the life of the camshafts. ive spun a cam journal before and it sucks.
let me know guys, thanks trey -------------------- "One of the most Crazy and Undecisive Members in central Illinois"

You're pretty much limited to Mullvains or Chenowith.

Hey if you guys aren't familiar, and while we are talking about 4g63 heads...
Want to get rid of that lifter tick without spending $100+ on 3g lifters which mask a problem that still exists? There are 2 oil port mods on the head to cure lifter tick. I have been witness to the doing of the mod as well as the results. Quietest 4g63t valvetrain I have ever heard. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-for...l-port-mod.html http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-e...rt-mod-2-a.html I will be doing it on my built head. I'm trying to find a 2g small port head (with CAS on head) that I can put on a 6 bolt shortblock. -------------------- If the sound of a DSM in the distance rowing through the gears gives you a hardon, you might be a car enthusiast.

I did the mod and still had lifter issues that caused phantom knock.
You should still check for lifters for bad ones.....they don't last forever. I think I got mine for $80 from MA Performance. -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???

I usually recommend Mullvains. Mike does good work and isn't terribly expensive, plus also supports the local racing scene.

East Peoria off rt 8 behind Auto Zone.
I can get you the exact address if you need, but it's pretty easy to find. -------------------- 1978 Mustang II King Cobra
