Anybody have any experience with either the Mitsubishi Lancer ES (2004-2006) or the Nissan Sentra 1.8 S (2003-2006) I am looking to buy a car on Monday and have narrowed it down to the two. I can get the Sentra for 13,990 brand new off the lot or the Lancer 2004 for 10K with 30K miles. Both are autos. I drove the Sentra and it seemed OK but the ride wasn’t that great. Haven’t drove the Lancer in about a year but I drove stick when I took it for a test drive before. I have the wife and 2 kids and just looking for a cheap get around car with 4 doors and great gas mileage. Any opinions, will be buying first thing Monday so I can make a cross country trip and I can’t make up my mind. Any other cars I should be considering, under 13K if possible. Insurance is cheaper on American cars but I can’t find anything that gets good MPG and doesn’t look like a piece of ass (Aveo)!

Does anybody know a good place to get a set of bearings pressed for the front wheels? I just picked up the 2nd of the front hubs I was needing and I have new front bearings. Anyone know a fair priced, fast turnaround shop in the area that can get me going? Or if anyone on the board is capable / reputable and has the tools shoot me a PM. Thanks

Well I’ve been up to no good lately as usual but figured I would post a couple new arrivals to the “family”

First Up 1992 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo FWD 5 Spd 95k miles in a sexy faded Teal color. Picked it up by Chicago a few weeks back for a good deal. 155-150-120-150 so it will be getting a "top Line budget" rebuild later this spring. Still haven’t decided if I want to leave it alone or make it a highway contender since I should have my AWD on the streets by Slo Pny Drag Day for its debut. 2.0 or 2.3 still up in the air at this point (if everything goes as planned) but that's a whole different story with close to a year and a half of headaches in the making.

Next up a 2006 4lb baby girl. Born Jan 23rd 4lbs, 17in (2 months premature) Finally got to bring her home this past weekend. Still not modified at this point but she’s a future gear head. My son will be 6 in a few weeks, I'm only 22 but feel like an old man now!

I need some opinions. I started my current job about 4 months ago making “ok” money and working 9am-6pm, 40 hours a week. This was a step down from my carpet cleaning days making quite a bit more but working anywhere from 50-70 hours a week. I have been just squeezing by with the lower salary but I get to see my family more. Now I’m faced with a dilemma. I have a job offer waiting where I could pretty much double my current salary doing nothing but driving around delivering crap door to door. Now there’s 2 catches. Number 1 - I would have to work 5 or 6 (optional) days a week from 9am to around 10pm so the hours are going to suck. Number 2 - after a month my “guaranteed pay” goes to strictly commission so I will never know exactly what I will make the next week. But even with the lowest I would probably ever make I will still never bring home less than 100-150$ more per week than my current job.
Now if you were in this situation what would you do? My old lady just had our daughter on the 23rd and I have a 6 year old son, so things are a bit more screwed up right now than normal. Every time I make a decision I convince myself otherwise and I’m just kind of wondering what anyone else might think. Also the job I am currently working at has spent the last 4 months training me to replace the “old fart” that works there now. And although I don’t have much of a heart I would feel like a real dick to tell them there SOL, but at best I could get a 2$ an hour raise which would still put me 5k below what I made last year!
