We should have a couple of stock exhausts around. Also have a high flow cat on the shelf as well. I'll have to double check to see if the cat is a 2.5 or 3" though.

Basicly with a "blow through" set-up the GM MAS is located after the BOV. It meters the air after the BOV and just before the throttle body. Because of this it doesn't get thrown off by the loss of air from the BOV when it open (e.g.) between shift. In all honesty, there isn't a lot of real benefit from it. It does make the car a bit less sensitive to some boost leaks (pre-throttle body elbow basicly) and might keep you from stalling out if you blow an IC pipe.

Some contend that a draw through might allow for slightly more precise metering although I've never seen any real evidence to that effect. Overall it's a matter of preference mainly. On the race car we run a "blow through" as the Tial BOV can not be recirculated.

Oh, and the shop phone has been operational again for a few days (after Verizon rewired half the building and then re-routed some things on their end). Although this morning it was coming up busy for hours until we put in yet another service call. wacko.gif (It would ring at the outside service point but come through busy if connected through to the desk). Working yet again though as of about 2pm through when I checked late this evening. (fingers crossed).

We should have a small stockpile at the shop. I'll have to double check the connectors to separate the '90s from the '91+

$50 shipped to your door sound fair?

QUOTE (warden1979 @ Aug 3 2005, 08:22 PM)
and was wondering if anyone has a passenger side window for a 92 talon?

We have several available. $20 you pull it in C/U (cheapest option) or we can pull it and/or ship if neccessary. biggthumpup.gif

Parts were pulled, checked, and cleaned up today. I'll let Xian work out the shipping details with you but they should be good to go. biggthumpup.gif

Oh, and Verizon has the landline at the shop fully functional again BTW (217)485-5159. (The 800 number is still being re-routed/checked but is supposed to be tied back in shortly or well.)

Verizon has finished rewiring half the building is is supposed to have us up "anytime". sad.gif

If you've been calling over the past few days you may have noticed that it would give you an entirely different number than you dialed and tell you it wasn't in service. They've resolved the routing issue there and are "supposed" to have us finally fixed again tomorrow (note sarcasm/irony here).

Were you needing the inspection cover (small plate that allows bottom flywheel viewing bolt from near oil pan to tranny) or starter locator plate (bolts behind flywheel and has a hole for the starter)?

We've got a few in good shape at the shop. I think $40 is about the going rate.

(We're in C/U though so I'm not sure if that's convenient for you).

I guess overall this contributes to my comment on editing.

I'm not clear on exactly if this goes beyond general post editing or if there is some mod-war I've accidently opened Pandora's box on.

I was just hoping for some stability where forum discussions are moderated by the mods and threads and posts are stable to some degree.

As far as the selling price, it was the same as the buying price.

So you bought the car for "investment purposes" but ended up selling it for what you bought it for?

Well with the recent debate on asking prices, value, etc. I thought this forum would be a good starting place for reference.

Wow, a starting price of $3K and then a page later it's down to $2K. What did this gem actually go for?

Looks like your asking price was at least 50% higher than what you really wanted for it given that you seemed to ask $3K for a $2K car? Looks like we have a pattern of asking prices far in excess of your actual selling prices. sad.gif

Shes for sale, bring cash in hand for a test drive.
$8000

Wow, how much did this $8000 race car actually sell for?

I heard an unconfirmed rumor it went for somewhere in the neighborhood of half that amount. Yet the buyer was still called 'generous'?

So when you price a car at $8K you seem to think that in reality it is worth far far less? Or at least you might say you have a history of actually getting far less than your asking price for your cars?

Sites such as cii, have a trader raiting system.

There's both good and bad on this one. It always sounds like a great idea and is good in principle.

I know on Cii it caused no end of problems at first with wars waging across the board for weeks in some cases. We ended up moving to a more e-bay related system that Corey implemented. The downside there we found was that people didn't seem to like it as much and it seems to have fallen into disuse.

E-bay allows its 'rebuttal' area as well.

I believe Gateway uses yet another system with attempts at fail-safes.

My only advice there is to foresee the kinks in advance as vendetta's or personal battles can get ugly there.

Overall though on forums that are big enough or have enough trading it's a good idea IMHO. biggthumpup.gif

Wasn't this car for sale for $4100 in this thread? http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=1243

Seems as if the price fluctuated from $4100 to $2300 to $3700 and I hear now $3500.

Wow, and it still hasn't sold after over a year and a half. Seems like even at 50% off some of these cars of yours take years to sell.

Would this be a case of asking $4100 on one thread in hopes of clearly roughly half of that down the road?

So when you initially say you feel a car is worth $1200 or even post it for sale for that much what you actually expect to get from it is closer to $600 or even less?

Wow, so initial asking price was cut in half on this car's sale. I seem to recall a couple of for sales like this. I wonder if I can find more of them.

Asking price in first post starts at $1200 then goes down to $600 in the next page. I wonder what it actually sold for.

Could this be a trail of Spy asking at least double what he actually wants out of a car for sale? ph34r.gif

Perhaps the koumotorsport Admin could make that happen for you.

My impression was that Xian was adminning primarily for the purpose of backend issues. Additionally I try not to put him in any situations that might be a conflict of interest.

I'd posted it here so that I could be shot down by the member base and informed of why that would be a bad idea if that were the case.

The suggestion was made to push for less fluctuation in threads and a more stable board.

I was actually unaware that you were officially a mod. Looking at the moderator list in the link here:
http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.p...ts&CODE=leaders

Your name was not present until today. Although when I click on it now you appear to have added it.

QUOTE (kapoosh @ Jul 27 2005, 12:23 AM)
I'll use my car as an example, i payed 16K for it, but it's worth closer to 22. If someone wrecked my car and only payed me 16K i couldn't replace my car

An interesting point. I suppose there are two schools of thought there.

One is that if you were able to track down the deal for $16K you could duplicate the feat and find another one. Most of us find 'good' deals and are able to repeat the process. I've heard some say that there are thousands of deals out there and that they run across them eveyday.

The other school of thought is why 'book' value exists. I believe most would go to kbb and establish value from there to see if your 22K vs 16K was actually the case.

Given a case like Kapoosh's Audi with that much time elapsing, I would imagine most would go straight to book value. However, if Kapoosh was just leaving the dealership, I would imagine they might just look at the hours old receipt and put you back where you were at the start of the day with a reimbursement of purchase price.

Just my musings there though, I'm not certain and it might very well vary from adjuster to adjuster.
