I need to check my calendar. Maybe I can make a quick little weekend visit. It would be nice to get away for a weekend.

Been working 2 jobs. Haven't had a complete day off between the two since Nov 30.

Massively busy working overtime on a few projects at work.

Typical pining for a project car and looking at my empty wallet and eyeball level debt.

Got the newest issue of Modified today. Was just going to skim through it real quick before tossing it aside (stupid Primedia doing away with SCC) only to find near the back an article on some enthusiast who put a RB26 in his Z32 and is running E85.

Way to go Andy!!

Passing on to others would be cool, but unfortunately the engine platform is now officially defunct. It will be hard to introduce enthusiasts to a DSM. WRXs are continuing to be a cheaper platform with boost and AWD; and they have a 2 as the first number in its model year.

I haven't been checking as often, but I am regionally obsolete as it is. I still believe the tech the elders on this board have shared is far more superior than 95% of other sites. I would love to see it to continue on, but in what capacity is the question.

QUOTE (akamiami @ Jul 8 2009, 02:21 PM) *
Congrats on the car. Back in my pre-DSM days, I had an '86 325i and I loved it. I should never have strayed from the German cars.

I hear you haven't strayed too far from them any more, Kris!

I've been busy workin', runnin', playin' softball, and dreaming about cars. I just hit a huge score the other day at the junkyard! I got a new hood and thicker sway bar for the front. I also got some headlights to flip on the 'net.

Nothing special.

I never realized how important having this site at my fingertips is! I check it every day and the last couple of days I have felt all sorts of weird... whew, better.

I keep seeing a lot of code for the links. I'm guessing this setup doesn't understand some of the code for the old board. No biggie. Anyways we can get the blue turned into Red again? I'm feeling a little naceous (it looks like a Cubs site).

Gee, I wonder what crazy ass person Z's trying to impersonate?

I guess it just depends on whether or not it was broken after he was done with it.

www.craigshelper.com

It's a freakin' sweet site to "power search" through the local Craigslist sites. I use it all the time to look for parts for the dime.

Damn! Turbo lag anyone? But seriously, that is insane.

It really makes me wonder if that was indeed a Supra. That massive tail shot out the passenger window just doesn't look supra-esque. And I don't remember what the interior looks like on one.

Irregardless, that is a sick machine.

Went and saw it already. Not as cheesy as the first or second ones. A lot of stringing together of the other movies. Good action.

I think it looks pretty badass, not gonna lie. I would prefer Red over Blue, but that's tiny details

If you still want a 2G, fine. Just buy an early 1G block, then. Problem solved.

BTW- on this website, daily driving a DSM and reliability do NOT go hand in hand.

Crankwalk has to do with the main thrust bearing on the block. The early 1G motors had 3 separate caps for the crank. The later 1G and 2G motors had a solid "girdle" array of caps for the crank.

The best thing would be to replace the block. You can use an early non turbo 4g63, but you would be best advised to put oil squirters in the cylinders (like the turbo blocks had), and, obviously, get the knock sensor in the block, too.

check the vfaq website. This is a massively researched topic.

This is frickin' awesome!

That front spoiler is massive!! I am excited about this new set of rules. It would be better if all the teams had the KERS system, though. 6.5 seconds of 80 extra hp is a significant amount of power.

Down here in St. Louis, there has been too much of it lately, and it is starting to rack up the lives claimed.

2 weeks ago, a man with 6 (count them, 6) DUI related charges between MO & IL was driving down the expressway THE WRONG WAY and hit & killed a woman, her fiance, and son. Her daughter, 11, survived. His BAC was .28.

And just yesterday afternoon, a childhood friend of my fiance was hit from behind by a drunken driver in a Corvette excessively speeding. He hit them and pushed them into the oncoming lane, to be struck by a fullsize Chevy P/U. And THAT driver was also under the influence. The woman, her husband, and their 5 month unborn child were all killed at the scene. It rocked Cindy pretty well. And I must say, it has rocked me quite a bit, too.

I am embarrassed to admit that I myself have committed this stupid act (I am blessed I was never arrested). I have even totaled my car. And I am here to say it has to stop. I hope this will cause at least one of you on here to think again and call someone if it turns out you can't drive.

I feel for these people who survived. The driver of the fullsize is a 27 year old female. She has to wake up every day for the rest of her life remembering she killed 3 people.

Yeah, Uftrings is a POS place for anything IMO.
I went to Tony & Sons before I went to SloPny. There's a reason I went to SloPny.

So, I can't really recommend any others. My buddy really likes Neal Tire in Washington, but I can't agree with him on them either.

Best of luck finding somewhere, buddy.
