QUOTE (awd4kicks @ Aug 20 2008, 08:48 PM) Definitely good to hear from you Rob. It's good to see that you still trade out cars and houses like the rest of us change cloths! J/K! Let us know when you can hook up some time. Hey, I'm getting better... Still have the mini-van!! As fall approaches I should get some more free time. Heck, maybe I'll even find time to have a little cook-out at our new place! |

God it's been a while... how's everyone doing? The 30 second update on me... well... 4 kids tends to suck up every last bit of time that exists in a day... boys are getting big (13mos now). Girls started 1st and 2nd grade today. Kristy is good... although some sad news that her mom passed away from cancer in July. We are now living in Germantown Hills, just behind the Jubilee Grocery store. I've traded in the cars for lawn mowers... little side business to make the extra $ that we all need. Dumped the black Ram for a 07 3/4 ton Mega Cab Ram with the Hemi. 13mpg, oh yea!! At least it will get out of it's own way, is under warranty, and can pull just about anything I can dream up. Picked up a little Focus to drive back and forth to work - hey, can't laugh too hard at 33mpg with gas at $4 gallon. Seems as if there have been some new faces pop up here, along with some additions to the families of the old faces... Hope everyone is doing well!! |

I don't think the caravan's up for any road racing, and with my ever busying scheudule spare time is very sparse, and of course money is all but non-existant in my world, but I'd be happy to help out where I can, when I can... Someday I may even own a car again... |

That's why I only turn the four wheel drive on when I absolutely need it. 99% of the time I'm fine without it anyway. |

Here's the key... You can't price something at what it's worth TO YOU, and always expect to sell it. If you're not willing to sell for current market value, don't waste your time. I could try to sell you a penny for a dollar, but that penny isn't worth anymore than a penny to you... Good luck with the fixes, it sounds like the problems you've been having are pretty minor in comparison to some. |

Problem lies with the aluminium they are made out of... very tempermental. Just unbolting the head can warp it slightly. From my experiences, I would never put a head on without it being at least checked by a machine shop. Cheaper to have it looked at and even decked, than put it on and figure out it's bad and have to buy a new head gasket and take the time to pull everything back apart. |

I asked Kalina about that last time I took a head in... they don't do that type of work. |

I beilve when I had my head rebuilt by kalina several years ago it was around $220... Since you have the head off and are taking it to the shop anyway, make sure to have it resurfaced. 90% of the heads I've seen have been warped, even if just slightly, after being pulled and won't seal correctly when put back on. |
