Since there seems to be only a few hardcore DSM owners still out there, I propose that we start a new DSMCentral racing team for road racing events. Auto-x and drag racing events can easily be included as well.
As a team we can agree on making a personal showing for specific events. Then each team member will need to chip in labor, time, expertise, parts or what have you for the team to make each race and through each race. The DSMCentral Racing Team will be honored with special racing stickers stating such. There may need to be a treasury of some sort, or each member to pay for the graphics, safety equipment and related items as needed. So this is for those that are serious. I don't think we are talking about thousands of dollars, but we are probably talking about more than a couple hundred. If anyone has ideas on sponsorship I'm all ears. We have the machines and we collectively have the engineering and ability! Who has the DESIRE? -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

Spy, you expounded on our strengths VERY well.
As for the benefits...Like in so many movies lately...It's for the GLORY! Well and the fun too. We could only expect to have the best damn time driving that anyone EVER has. What we would be doing for the legacy of DSM's and DSMCentral while we are having the time of our lives? That's the question. I'm not saying that we will build everyones race car from the ground up. Any team member needs to bring a viable and plausible car that can easily be set-up to race if it isn't already. As a team member we will help when needed and especially crunch time before and during the races, but each driver will need their own car to race and their committed A-game. The DSMCentral Race Team would define it's self. There is no set template. Seeing that we may only hit up to 5 major events in a season, I don't see this being a full time job. Just a closer knit version of what we already have. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

I don't think the caravan's up for any road racing, and with my ever busying scheudule spare time is very sparse, and of course money is all but non-existant in my world, but I'd be happy to help out where I can, when I can...
Someday I may even own a car again... -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

I am up for contributing. My biggest road blocks this year will be money and time. As of right now though, I still have a running DSM so I'm up for it.

I'd like to help too, but time and money is usally an issue. As most know, my main thing is the drag side, and those items are usally expended getting my stuff ready for the Cordova Brackets.
But I'm open to helping others and have some wrenching/fabrication/welding skills. -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???

sounds like a good idea, but there is definately more involved than trning wrenches on some elses car... I for one would be more than happy to lend a helping hand if I didn't live almost 3 hours away from most of the people on the team... I have also been trying to run a small race program myself, but time and available cash are always the hardest things to come up with, hard to imagine coming up with more time and more cash than I have been doing so far
like I said, I will help if I can though... let me know how I can help if possible. -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

I'm definitely watching this thread. Not sure what I'd bring to the table other than (hopefully) a competitive car and a lousy driver (we're supposed to fix that, right?).
