hey guys.... looking to do a repaint on the GSX... I have been unsatasfied with my paint job since the day I got it.... it looks good from a distance, but 30' away you are already seeing the deficiancies...
I was thinking that I would like to have it repainted, but want to keep the cost down as much as possable. who does good budget paint work???? Macco was the first ones I thought of when I was thinking budget... but is it a shit paint job??? do they do stripes too.... I was thinking of doing the one nonsemetrical silver stripe down the car and using the same viper blue color for the rest. -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

It is my understanding that money can be saved by doing all the prep work yourself (sanding, filling, etc.). This is especially true with Maaco because the do zero prep and minimal masking for the car. If you prep it, take off the stuff you don't want paint on/ expose stuff you do want paint on, they aren't that bad. They spray cars all day long, so it's usually a decent coat, it's just the details they lack on (like taking off a side mirror on a jeep so pain is underneath the mount)
Not 100% on this, just heard it through the grapevine. -------------------- QUOTE (gsxracer80 @ Oct 31 2006, 12:41 AM)

I had my car repainted by Maaco. Goat is spot on. They don't mask very well, so expect some overspray on stuff like the IC or suspension parts unless you mask that stuff off on your own. Other than that they do a good job. I've been very happy with my paint job considering how little I paid for it.

this car was done at macco... nice finish...i am happy with it
http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.p...CODE=12&CID=189 If you can hold off painting until winter, you can get the presidential paint job for $250, thats what i did, i'm going to do the same with my 90. I've always gone to the macco off of revis barracks, i've had 4 cars done there over the last couple years and they came out great. but like the iron goat said, if you fill your own dings and sand any bad clear coat or any blems, take off the spoiler if it gets paint under it, or any other things like that, any labor they have to do other than paint they charge, unless its included in the package of course, like masking, and sanding the old paint to make the new stick. but when they are only charging 250 per paint job they gotta make some more money somehow |

QUOTE (spyonu2007 @ May 4 2006, 08:34 PM) nothing would make me smile more, if she went back to black. I would actually consider buying her back. not for the money I would have to get for it.... black is good when it is fresh and clean... other than that... it is pain in the ass and looks like shit 90% of the time -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!
