I think my starter is going out. When the housing broke that first time, the tranny tilted enough to drag the starter into the flywheel and mangled it pretty good. I'm pretty sure the end bearing in it is pretty unhappy with that type of loading also.

Anybody ever have to change one of these out? Just wondering how long it might take/how hard it is. I know unbolting it is easy, just not sure how much of a PITA the wiring is.

Its not so much the starter's fault that it doesn't work, most things wouldn't be too happy about getting ground down by the flywheel :wink:

Right now the starter only works if one bolt is used, allowing the starter to swing down closer to the flywheel. I assume the starter gear is chewed up since the flywheel looks decent.
