Well Serbd97 I appreciate you at least taking the time to try....that certainly means alot! I put in an app at IETC in Aug. maybe I'll try IDES soon. They already have me on file I guess...do they keep those apps for a while? I just assumed that I was out since I haven't gotten a call back...maybe not though? Anyway, please tell your wife thank you for trying as well...I appreciate that you guys took time to try to help me.

QUOTE
Jen, my wife is a security guard for MMMA (don't know where the hell diamond star came from)  but depending on what you're wanting to do, I know she was saying that the plant was probably going to be hiring here soon.  I am sure she would be glad to do some name dropping for ya if ya wanted.

Thanks for the offer! I'm really wanting to get an assembly job, either full time or supplementary. If your wife is willing to help, I'd appreciate it more than you probably realize. I have been wanting to get my foot in the door there for several years and put in an app with IETC once, but never got anything. Now they don't have any applications, so I'm hoping somehow that I can find a way to apply again...I even drove up to the UAW office in Normal today, but no luck. Anyway, thanks again. biggrin.gif

Hey Mike thanks for the heads-up...I didn't know it was still called DSM. Basically I'm just looking for some sort of assembly position, I've been around cars and worked with them in one way or another my whole life. I know I would be capable and would enjoy the job. To me $9.80 doesn't sound too bad, but then again I'm a dirt poor 21 y/o college student so I would happy. biggrin.gif Anyway if you could hook me up with someone that might be able to help, I would appreciate it so much!

Bri

Good job Nate! It is indeed the official name of the plant in Normal. I'm shocked that none of you guys from the Bloomington/Normal Peoria area knew what it was. Anyway if anyone knows someone that works there, maybe you could drop a bug in their ear for me. Thanks! biggrin.gif

I'm sure this is an awkward question, but is there anyone here that works at MMMA that would be willing to get me a supplemental app? I applied in Aug. when they had open hiring but didn't get a call. sad.gif I have heard though that employees can get supplemental applications for other people from Lou Ann Siebenthal (think it's spelled correctly). Anyway if someone would be willing to help I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks!

Harford on the Hill? Where the heck is that? Actually UIS is my home until spring of '04. I'm a business major who's just trying to get the heck done so I can move on to grad school. As far as the 4g64, it's in a '95 Galant LS. Nothing stellar by any means, but it's been a good car and it presently has 142,000 on the odo. Since the body is still in pristine condition I've kicked around the idea of maybe doing a rebuild at 200K and putting a DOHC head and turbo on. Only prob is the auto trannies suck...already had a rebuild at 119,000.

Thanks for the welcome guys...I can tell already that I've found a cool place to hang out. Nate, if I skip class tonight to read all 17 pages of that discussion...I'm blaming you! L8R

Hey Thanks for the link. One question I have...where did you get "Albert"? Maybe putting "newbie alert" threw you off. Anyway I'm Brian, but most people call me Bri. biggrin.gif

Hey everyone I'm new here, I just thought I'd say hi! Have any of you successfully swapped a 4g63 exhaust manifold and turbo onto a 4g64? If so, what all is involved in doing the swap?
