The car ran 10.157@140.34 and qualified 3rd in the Pro 4 Cylinder class. First round of eliminations we ran 9.986@138.31 and won against a Honda CRX that ran 10.157@144. He protested and had me disqualified because I didn't have a competetion liscense. Anyway the 9 sec timeslip is there now.

Wait a second here...
Are you telling us that you didn't break anything?!?! Whoa HOLY FREAKIN COW DARRYL&SUSAN!!! You guys ran 9's!!! That is an increadible feat...Congratulations. Now you have to give up the goods. Most of us know what it feels like to run 15's and 14's. Alot of us know what it's like to run 13's and 12's. There's a minority that may know 11's. But what the heck does it feel like to drive a 9 second run!?! I mean the G forces and trying to keep the car straight and shifting and all that craziness. Let us in on it. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

Everyone knows about the driveline failures at the Shoot Out. I launched the car at 6000 rpms which is way to high for or setup. The car has 600+ lb-ft of torque and well you get the picture. The one run at the Shoot out was a 10.74@139. That shows the power is there. The 60' was 2.008. Can you tell I was taking it easy off the line? After that it was like being strapped to a rocket!!
Saturday at the NOPI event we didn't make a single pass. Our car wasn't teched till 2 one hour before the first qualifying round. The said our wheel studs were too short. Long story short, 5 hours later, 20 new Moroso studs, 20 new lug nuts, 2 new rotors, 2 ABS rings cut hacked bent and finally off, the car was ready to run 10 minutes too late for the last qualifying round on Saturday. Did I mention we arrived at 9? I tried to get the car teched a 11, 12 and 1. Well final qualifying round Sunday we click off a 10.157@140.34. It made us the 3rd qualifier. The car felt slow at the take off then BOOM!!! We were gettin it!!! First and second the pull is just ungodly. I swear 3rd seems even worse. The 60' on that pass was 1.620. I pulled a 1.595 in the old car with Dunlop SP8000's. You can see I'm still gun shy at pulling the trigger right off the line. The next pass was against the Redline racing Honda CRX. This is the time slip US him R/T .325 .343 60' 1.610 1.646 330' 4.347 4.527 1/8 6.537 6.771 MPH 114.25 113.47 1000' 8.399 8.628 1/4 9.986 10.159 MPH 138.31 146.83 On this run I looked out the corner of my eye just before the 3-4 shift and saw him charging towards me hard. I shifted late to 4th thus the lower speed. After the finish line he passes me with the parachute deployed. I hit the brakes moderately and make the first turn off. More to come later Darryl -------------------- |
