ok guys, NEON is still for sale. However it is going up a little in price. Over the past few months i have torn the engine apart, and accumulated the following parts to be installed over the next week or two. New Cylinder head (old one had worn cam journals) Crane #12 grind camshaft Crane valve springs to accomodate the cam Mopar bearings New pistons and rings Felpro Perma_torque full gasket set new o2 sensors new water pump new timing components new pcv valve new purge valve OBX SS header and downpipe thermostat and other misc. items Waiting for the cylinder head to arrive but have everything else sitting in the drivers seat. Now i dont know when i will have the time to install everything yet but once completed i will be raising the price to $2900. Or if someone wants to purchase it now i will let it go for $2200 and help with the assembly as much as i can which should only take a few hours. |

i know i definetly cant wait until the day you get your talon back out marcus... it definetly does take alot of time, money, blood sweat and tears to build a badass DSM and i have learned over the years myself and from the elder DSMers stories and track time. I just cant get rid of the addiction... Cars are in my DNA... entire family build and race cars so i knew what i was bound to do as a hobby... The one thing that has struck me the hardest over the years is NOT TO RUSH THROUGH your build because the out come will almost always tear you apart. DO it right the first time and only time!! as i said before, good luck with your build zach, and ill see ya on the streets this summer.... |

Ok boys and girls i have started my next project for the 2011 season. Well atleast the engine so far. Got a good block from mr patterson and the other items from a buddy who got out of the game. Cylinder head and block are currently at the machine shop getting a full cleaning and inspection before i assemble them. The car that i have my sights set on is a 91 eclipse gsx in near mint condition (just waiting on the arrival of my income tax). it is an AWD platform and BlackCherry in color. Plans as of now are to get the engine together utilizing mostly OEM parts and get it on the streets and ready for the track by spring. While waiting on the machine shop (they take forever) i have been taking miscellaneous items to work , sand blasting and painting for a good Clean look under the hood. Although i will be going for the Clean look with the car i will also be aiming for a decently quick street machine. I have my sights set on my brothers 96 cobra mustang (modded of course) just as a goal of mine. At the moment i will be assembling the bottom end with all OEM parts minus the balance shafts and some ACL bearings. Of course a set of ARP headstuds and mitsu multi layer headgasket as well. The cylinder head however is going to be a little stronger built then the OEM unit. I am going to be trying out the Crower valvetrain items and have them all sitting in my garage awaiting the call from the machine shop. Crower Springs & TI retainers, Crower Valves, seats & seals, Supertech bronze quides and Brian Crower 272 cams. My buddy had a set of BC cams in his last eclipse and was very pleased with them so im goin to try them out. Ive been taking pics of items and will take more as the build process goes along during the next few months. |

i was really pleased with my last spec clutch, and they are always advancing there technologies over the other companies that have been out there for a long time and built a reputation. ACT is a good brand dont get me wrong but a few of us have been using spec clutches and are really pleased. I also know that the SBR clutches (slowboyraing) are decent as well and they are the ACT clutches just modified by SBR. good luck with the install... |
