My names Kyle, I'm new here and this is my car. It's a 96 talon tsi awd in prism blue "rarest 2g color" with every option "still the only one I've seen with every option".
The car currently has 241,xxx on the odometer with about 26k on the motor.
The car has a few small mods including a walbro 255 fuel pump, manual boost controller, autometer boost and oil press gauges, hard intake pipe, 1g bov, candy blue powdered vc, mishimoto radiator cap, and 3g eclipse gt wheels "for now - one of the 2g gsx rims is bent due to a blown out tire". My thermal r&d exhaust will be here on monday, just ordered my 3" megan downpipe tonight and next week when my taxes come back I'll be getting a ported e3 16g and pte 680cc injectors. Maintenance includes oil change, new drivers side oem front curved control arm bolts, new tires, revised lifters, new brake pads all around, new rear rotors, new rear drivers side hub.

Hope you don't mind pics

Here's some pics when I first got the car:

A few after I cleaned it up and such:

Got my brakes all done and the wheel put back on tonight, now just to wait for a few odds and ends to come. "powder coated oil cap and valve cover bolts" and then the car will be drivable and I can drive it to Meineke to have the exhaust done.

thread tap in the motor? I'm pretty sure that's not good... tongue.gif

are you planning to setup your blowoff as a recirc setup? I only ask cause I see you're running mass air at the filter, and if you don't recirc you'll throw off your mixture. Not a big issue, will just run overrich coming off boost. (pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong) My understanding was that's why Mitsu ran recirc instead of BOVs

Yeah, when putting on the new vc 4 of the 14 bolt holes took a shit on me.. we got 2 of them re-tapped but upon doing the 3rd one.. the tap slid out and went down the oil passage in the head and I believe down into the oil pan.
I have the recirculation fitting for the bov but I'm going to cap the intake off and see how it runs without it. Some dsms run fine with unrecirculated bovs and some do not for some reason. My friend Daves runs fine though so I'm hoping I won't have a problem.

well the MAF ones are likely to have an issue, though it may not be a big deal. Running overrich doesn't really hurt too much, and it should only do so when the BOV is open. I think some DSMs are MAP based correct? those don't matter where you vent the air, as there's no meter. Can also vent to atmosphere if your MAF is after your BOV. just an fyi more than anything, in case it does run a little finnicky

DSM are air metered, not air pressure (MAP). They tend to go rich when the BOV blows off to atmosphere. I would think if the car is well tuned (12:1 AF) and not running at the stock blubberly rich (like 8:1 at WOT) that they come from the factory it won't be as big a issue.

Working on installing them, I already have the other manifold off just sitting on the turbo. I'm going to work on it more tomorrow.

Kindaflush:

I also hate people calling my car Celtic Blue Pearl so I took a picture to show that it's not.

Btw base price for anyone who was wondering was $20,271. If you hold it up you can see the price even tho it's crossed out for some reason.

Prothane mounts:

I also ordered a full Energy Suspension bushing kit but I don't have pics of it yet.
