Ok boys and girls i have started my next project for the 2011 season. Well atleast the engine so far. Got a good block from mr patterson and the other items from a buddy who got out of the game. Cylinder head and block are currently at the machine shop getting a full cleaning and inspection before i assemble them.
The car that i have my sights set on is a 91 eclipse gsx in near mint condition (just waiting on the arrival of my income tax). it is an AWD platform and BlackCherry in color. Plans as of now are to get the engine together utilizing mostly OEM parts and get it on the streets and ready for the track by spring. While waiting on the machine shop (they take forever) i have been taking miscellaneous items to work , sand blasting and painting for a good Clean look under the hood. Although i will be going for the Clean look with the car i will also be aiming for a decently quick street machine. I have my sights set on my brothers 96 cobra mustang (modded of course) just as a goal of mine. At the moment i will be assembling the bottom end with all OEM parts minus the balance shafts and some ACL bearings. Of course a set of ARP headstuds and mitsu multi layer headgasket as well. The cylinder head however is going to be a little stronger built then the OEM unit. I am going to be trying out the Crower valvetrain items and have them all sitting in my garage awaiting the call from the machine shop. Crower Springs & TI retainers, Crower Valves, seats & seals, Supertech bronze quides and Brian Crower 272 cams. My buddy had a set of BC cams in his last eclipse and was very pleased with them so im goin to try them out. Ive been taking pics of items and will take more as the build process goes along during the next few months. -------------------- "One of the most Crazy and Undecisive Members in central Illinois"
