Taken from CSS...I assume it's OK to copy and paste.
The time has come again to get prepared for the 2009 race day at Cordova. signups are now available at Midwest Chassis & Performance, Inc. in North Pekin, or the Peoria Winner's Circle store. info: place: Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova, IL (Quad Cities area) date: Sunday Oct 18, rain date 25th time: gates open 9am race till 5pm cost: 40.00 car and driver(pre-registered only), 5.00 spectator at gate this event has been running for 13 years now and is always a good time, track prep will be sure to break your parts as usual. we will only be taking 85 entries as to control the number of cars in the staging lanes and less waiting for a pass. you have over 4 weeks to get signed up. don't call me or Winners Circle trying to get in 2 days before the event, because it will be filled up long before that. if you are planning on racing read this!!! have you and your car ready... plain and simple. you have a month to prepare- get it fixed now. if you oil the track or leak on the starting line you will be asked to fix it. if you do it twice you are loading up and won't run again- no excuses. motorcycles- drag bikes only. you must have FULL riding gear- approved helmet, full leathers, gloves, boots, operational kill tether. race fuel and concessions will be open and operated by the track, your own grill and coolers are welcome though. common racer courtesy- if you break while going down the track then pull over to the wall as quick and safe as possible. just stop. we will get you back to your pit space if needed but don't oil down the entire racing surface. it it much easier to clean up a puddle than to clean and re-prep the center of the lane. this will speed up clean up time and as a result let the other people behind you continue to get more passes. if your car is not running properly don't be a hero and leg it out for the entire 1/4 mile and possibly risk an oil down. there is an early turn off just after the 1/8 mile point... USE IT! safety equipment- this is an NHRA member track. you and your vehicle will be permitted to race subject to a safety inspection. simple things like battery hold downs, current harnesses, fuel cell filler neck ground wire, driveshaft loops, Snell 05 or newer helmet(required if you are 13.99 or faster), roll bar/cage(11.49 or faster), fire jacket, gloves, etc. these things are required depending on the performance level of the vehicle and the tech officials at the track will make the determination and decisions. any questions feel free to ask. this event will be carried on basically the same as it always has. if some of you are interested in a bracket race or any other type of competition, then speak up. otherwise it will be a full day of test-n-tune and grudge racing. contacts: Midwest Chassis: Eric Vicary 309-382-6252 Winner's Circle Peoria 309-688-9165 Anybody plan on going?
