yeah i think it is a 90 ECU. i remember doing a pin swap on my buddies car it was in and i think it was a 91.

i am in palatine now (NW of chicago) but the dude that has the ECU works at FedEX so he can ship it to you.

i have one laying around. it hasn't been in a car for a few years and you will have to do a pin swap but it should work for you.

socketed w/ wortdog chip for 550cc injectors, 5k launch, 8k rev limit (i think) MAF fuel cut delete.

i had to look on DSMtrader to see what they are going for these days. does $100 shipped sound fair to you?

email me if you are interested.

my roommate has decided to go back to college, work part time, and move in with his parents. unfortunately i cannot afford an evo and a 1 bedroom apt in the NW burbs. so the evo is gone... sad sad day for me.

i think i am going to get the vision series boost gauge that goes to 25psi with vacuum. i don't think i will be over 25psi anytime soon and the one that goes to 25 matches the other gauges. there is a pretty large difference between the cockpit series gauges and the vision series.

so if anyone wants the boost gauge let me know... been used for about a week. $20 and it is yours.

i want quiet. i have had a loud car since i was 17... i am done with that. i am sick of driving into work with a car that is louder than my students.

that is not to say i have anything against loud cars that sound good, but this is my daily driver and for once i have a car that is quick and quite... and i am enjoying that right now.

i seriously looked at the borla though. if they had a hush for the evo i would probably buy that.

What's up with the boost gauge that only goes to 30psi? wink.gif

Looks clean!

stock turbo. i would like to get a green but i am not sure if it would be worth it.

i want to keep it as stock appearing as possible. stock exhaust, BOV, ride height, etc... so i am not sure an FP green would be worth it keeping the stock exhaust. we will see... i should have this car for a while. something larger may be in the works down the road.

put some new gauges in the evo today.

VDO boost, oil temp, and oil pressure gauge.

super easy install. the oil temp sensor replaces my drain plug on the pan and there was a plug in the oil pump that was removed so i could put in the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge.

i used the 42 Draft designs pod. it is a CNC machined piece of aluminum that is painted to match the center interior piece.

did you ever get your gauges hooked up? i just ordered a bunch of stuff to run gauges in my car. not sure about the trans temp but the oil temp sensor should work in your car. as far as the oil pressure gauge on the evo there is an extra plug on the pump where you can screw in a 2nd oil pressure sending unit. 42 draft designs has all the stuff to hook it up to an EVO... not sure if you can do the same with the DSM.

this oil temp sending unit screws into the drain plug on the oil pan.

http://www.42draftdesigns.com/categories/p...do/vc323055.htm

not sure about the trans temp because that is a different size but you may be able to find something similar.

i had no idea that AMS had a fix for this until i bought the EVO and did more research. i just knew about the "EVO clunk" and after about three days of driving the car it started to annoy me.

i am just going to leave it the way it is for now. i need to focus on getting my tire situation taken care of and finding a dealership that will replace my 2nd gear syncro under warranty with an aftermarket clutch.

from what i was reading the issue was the rear bushings bottom out when the dif twists on the shift. and the obvious fix was to remove the rubber bushings and replace them with poly. i picked up a set of the white line bushings and installed them last week. it does not seem to have fixed the issue.

AMS sells a mustache bar delete kit that is also supposed to remove the clunk. it replaces the bar that attaches the back of the diff to the frame with a small piece of milled aluminum. it runs about $250 according to their website. this bar also cuts 14lbs from the rear of the car.

AMS says it works but i have heard from a few people that it either A doesn't work, or B can make it worse. so we will see how bored i get over the summer and how much money i have. i may throw one on and see what happens.

i might make it out to the drag day... still up in the air on that one though. the last time i went to the drag day at cordova my car left on a flat bed with a broken 3-4 shift fork. i am not sure i want to brake this one quite yet.

Are ya sceered JVB?? biggthumpup.gif

i am "sceered" to break my EVO two weeks after i bought it? hell yeah i am. i have never blown anything up at autoX... we will see.

so the brakes are on... noisy once they are hot under light braking. they squeek when i am coming to stop at a light or into a parking spot.

the rear dif bushings didn't do a damned thing, kinda sucks. but overall the car is great.

ATE came in yesterday so i am going to bleed the system this weekend in prep for autoX next weekend.
