My clutch is gone completely. Does anyone have a good used one sitting around that they would part with. I would like to put it in myself because I cant afford the 725.00 that the shop wants. Only 1 small problem, I have never replaced a clutch in any vehicle so I dont have a clue what in the hell I would be doing. So if anyone would be willing to help I would appreciate it.

I think I gave my used...not so good clutches to Eric. I'm sure that we could find someone to help. Most of us have done our own already at least once.

you can get a stocker from the dealer from around 200. At least from Tallahassee anyway.

As for installing it. It can be a head ach. However, it can be done with two days to spare. You will need the extra time in case you need to machine your flywheel. Hopefully your disk is only fried on the PP side and not the flywheel side too.

If you have tools and time, you should be able to change your own clutch out. Unless you are damn good, you will need help lifting the tranny back up. Getting it down is easy. If fact, you can do that part yourself.

It would cost me a fortune to get it hauled up there, thanks anyway.

I just have the Pressure plates from those clutches. You can have the one I'm not using if you want, but you'd still need a clutch disc from someplace. Its almost just as cheap to buy the whole kit including the pressure plate.

I've got two disks laying around, one is not worn too bad, but has tranny fluid all over it, and the other is dry, but worn fairly bad. You are welcome to either. Catch is you would have to come pick them up, I'm running out of spare time quickly.

Hey Brian, I have got a good garage for ya to use, and can get a truck and trailer to get it here. I don't have that many tools, but from what I remember of Marcus and I doing mine, I think we could get by. You would still need someone with the knowhow (Marcus can attest to my ignorance when it comes to this), but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be when we dove in. I would be willing to host a "DSM Party" some weekend. LOL. And I do have that one clutch and pressure plate in the garage, I would like 200 for it, but we could talk personally on the side about it. I couldn't help much physically because of restraints still on me, but I would glad to help out as much as possible, plus I don't have any time constraints for the next couple of weeks. Well, sorry for rambling, but just let me know.

Thanks guys. I worked out a deal with Eugene and I am going to buy his new one. We are going to trailer the car out to his place to do it, but as he said I still need some know how if someone or some people(if that is ok with Eugene) want to come help. I will buy a case of beer as long as you promise not to wreck you cars on the way home laugh.gif

That is fine with me, but if there is a more centralized spot where more people can go to help him out, I can trailer the car pretty much anywhere if people don't want to drive all the way to Stanford. But as mentioned in afore post, it is fine with me.

We will have my car out at Eugene's house this weekend if anyone wants to come out we can just turn it into a meet since the weather is supposed to be nice. It could also be a how to seminar for putting in clutches if there are other people like me that have never done it.
Just post here if you are going to come out so that the proper arrangements (ie. beer and food) can be made.
