I would imagine that a used car dealer could help you determine a value, although you would probably want to look for someplace that deals in rare and modified cars. Baker's Classic Cars in East Peoria perhaps?

Sorry to say it, but I think you're screwed. Unless you have the restoration and modifications factored into your insurance, the company won't pay you dick for them. A lot of insurance companies won't give extra insurance for modifications.

I ran into this a couple of years ago with a 350 swapped s10. In my case I was severely burned by the whole process.

My advice after having gone through it is this:

Act fast- get a qualifies appraisal of value

Have receipts- This goes a HUGE way with the insurance company. If you can document the engine, gauges, anything else with receipts they will add to the value of the car with little arguement. The same goes for receipts for 'tuning' and install of performance parts.

Pics of modifications- In my experience they will fight you every step of the way with just that to arm yourself with. Their appraisers tend to know little about modded cars and can't or won't recognize aftermarket parts or assign a value to them. In some cases the appraisers (employed by the insurance company) will actually note them as stock parts removed and deduct from the value of the car.

I would start with the receipts, have them ALL in order and bombard them with them. If you don't shoot you back the numbers you want, have a qualified appraiser lined up ASAP.

Just my $0.02

Wait, I think an insurance company will pay out so much for damaged goods aside from the actual car. Like if you had some personal fx in there. Don't know if they'll look at the car parts the same as items in the car.
