I need some help here I'm tring to figure something out.

I installed my new Autometer Oil Pressure Meter last night... I hooked it up to the new sending unit and installed the sending unit in the OEM sending unit's spot. Once all said and done I started the car and it showed nothing.... So this morning I was on my way to work and it started to move and once the car was warm when at idel it looked like 30 but when I was going down the road at 3000-3500RPM it sits at like 100... I fell this is too mcuh but I dont' know much about other people's pressure numbers.

Let me know.

I don't have any hard numbers as I've never used an after market gage on a DSM. We've always noticed that the oil pressure varies tremendously on a DSM from nothing at idle to over-the-top at WOT though. 100psi sounds high, but it doesn't totally suprise me if your talking WOT. We really need some hard evidence here though.

I've heard of problems like this on another board where someone installs a new oil press. gauge and it sounds incredibly high (theirs was on a 2g). Honestly, I don't know if they even got it figured out but, if your stock gauge still works compare it to the Autometer while doing your test. As long as the stock gauge doesn't go over where it usually sits for that specific point in RPMs/throttle position then don't worry. I have yet to install an oil press. gauge in my car (future budget allowing) but I know it's higher than stock because when I had the motor apart Mitsu 77 and I altered the oil pump for higher oil pressure. Now it sits about a 1/8 inch past the middle mark on the stock gauge when at WOT. Think about it this way I guess, better too much oil pressure than not enough.

Too much oil pressure can be a bad thing. Excessivce oil pressure can damage the seals on a turbo. Excessive oil pressure can ruin the ol pump if you have the new style with helical cut gears. Side note it also robs you of some power.

100 psi is on the high side, but I think we get around 75 to 80 psi

The car has a new oil pump on it too if that will make any differnce. I'd say it's at 90 driving down the road but if I put my foot into it it will peak the gauge 100.
