i've got NGK plugs in right now....what would my best bet on wiring be. I've heard that NGK is best for the 2g eclipse but i know that MSD is big in ignition. any insights would be helpful.

I am running NGK plugs and NGK wires.... I know that MSD makes some good ignition parts, but I don't have any experience with MSD wires...
although I have been told that the MSD ignition box (part # 6A or 6AL) seems to be pretty popular -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

MSD wires work best when put with MSD ignition. The wires are wound differently inside the silicone and are made to work with the higher voltage spark. I don't think however, that they are made to go on regular ignitions. Accell, NGK, Bosch, any of those will be good for the stock ignition.

The idea is the bigger the wire the better conductivity, or easier to get all the spark you can to the plug. Take it for what it's worth.

Personally, I've been using speaker wire. Seriously, it works great. You just strip a lot off of one end and ball it up, and shove it in the coil. The other end just needs to wrap around the end of the plug. I go with 12AWG Monster Cable. It makes the spark sound better. Oh, and if you tune in the right radio station, you can squeeze a couple of spare HP out of it!! Badazzz!!!
I think any of the bigger brands work just fine. I know people running just about every one. Unless you're on the "ragged edge" plug wires aren't going to make a real noticeable difference. (unless the old ones were shot, obviously) -------------------- QUOTE (gsxracer80 @ Oct 31 2006, 12:41 AM)
thanks hcar.... I am still massaging that area trying to get it ready... ![]() |

Don't forget the gold connetors for those speaker wires. We're building a race car here, not a Geo Storm
