hmm, I thought graff's car was a bit faster than that on the low boost. Interesting to see how similar the numbers are even though it's two completely different animals. I'm sure his car is capable of much much more than 12.3. Does he plan to switch to race gas and up the boost at boti or anytime soon?

I think more boost and slicks at the track when he gets the LSD in. The Power FC isn't even tuned. He should see 11's no problem. You could also run the race gas and up the boost though right?

QUOTE (akamiami @ Sep 5 2004, 01:08 PM)
Berlette's sti has a suspension, volk wheels, bigger intercooler and full exhaust. He was doing mid 13's I think.

I saw a guy there earlier that night too who had an evo8 with a greddy ebc, full perrin exhaust, exedy clutch, dynoflash, and maybe a few other things that was running high 13's. He ripped one of his linkage cables off the tranny and I had to put it back on for him because he was going to have it towed away not knowing what was wrong with it. Sad.

I thought the STI's were supposed be quicker than that, even stock. Was he not launching very hard?

Sad that Evo has all that done and could only pull off high 13's, when Kazz's is pretty much stock and running mid 13's. I gotta run mine at the strip sometime. Btw, have you ever looked into how expensive new rotors are for Evo's? Mine are feeling a little warped, so I looked into new stock ones from Mitsu...ouch. I'm thinking I might be able to find some aftermarket rotors for less.

I'm not running race gas. What's the point of running something that won't be good on the street? That's like having slicks for a car that you only use when you're racing. Or wearing seatbelts or condoms, sissy stuff if you ask me.

SCC did a huge writeup about rotors for the evo's and Sti's. You should take a look at it.

Berlette wasn't happy with his STi's times, and rightly so, they are supposed to run 13.1 stock. But then again, 'supposed to' and 'does' are two completely differnt things. You always hear the jackasses on the intarweb talking about how they got their 'stock' cars to run 12's but for every one of those guys there's a hundred or thousand shitball cars that couldn't manage a 14 with schumacher behind the wheel.

Having said that, I have no doubt that a better driver would have been able to nail a better than 1.7 sixty foot with analube and get the car into the 11's. I was looking on the dsmtimes.org page and my traps are good enough easily.

Hey nate, post your numbers from the time you almost hit 11's okay?

Sniff, I think Kris just called me a sissy. huh.gif

Those are some awesome trap speeds for pump gas. I've never been over 105mph on that camel piss people dare call 'gas'.

100 octane works great on the street. Don't cry because you're too cheap to buy it. Besides, you've ran race gas every time I've been to the strip with you. Can't remember if that was once or twice. biggrin.gif

On a more serious note, I look at it as more insurance and protection against detonation than anything. If I were running a standalone and knew everything would stay consistent from run to run I wouldn't worry so much, but throwing a piggy back on a 'stock' ECU tends to throw some inconsistencies into the equation every once in a while.

Yeah, I actually read that. Still too rich for my blood. Damn Evo's and their expensive brakes. RMR sells some slotted after markets for about 500 a set. rolleyes.gif

I know what you mean about Berlette's times in the STI compared to the rag rated numbers. God knows you and I should have both been in the 11's a long time ago. I bet Kicks or Darryl could pull some 11's out of my sanguinous nugget (referencing my car, don't get to excited Kicks...you dirty bastard biggrin.gif ).

I'll see if I can find them. I always seem to lose my timeslips. I think they're out in the garage though.

Off the top of my head the quickest ET I've run was a 12 flat, but I don't remember the trap speed. The fastest trap speed I've run is 121 mph, but I don't remember the ET. Go figure.

Damn those folks woulda been pissed if I were there - even with my fried stock clutch...

Makes me wanna make the 19th even more - if there wasn't that damned PCA autocross on Saturday.

I'm positive I can make low 13s with the new clutch and more intelligent shifting... Hmmmm...

Yeah, brakes... I got accused of using the return road at the end of the strip as my own autocross course... apparently brakes might be required ... biggrin.gif

I found Natedoggs times from the last SCDC. The quickest and fastest run netted a 12.027 @ 116.46mph. You guys are so close with completely different turbo set-ups it's not even funny! biggthumpup.gif

This cracks me up...

Nate and I have both posted some of his LOW LOW 12 second ET's at least 2-3 times. This is the first time that we have seen a post of one of Kris's good runs. Yet it's a suprise that Nate was this fast?

No offense intended...it's just strange.

Yeah, I even saw Nate run that 12.0, but I guess it just didn't register. I had the notion that Kris' car was the baddest DSM around. And I rode in it and thought it was dam fast. Sorry guys.

Nate - I'm not a big turbo guy, so how does that compare to a t3/t4 and Kris' turbo?

Haha! Not a problem. biggthumpup.gif

My turbo pushes the same amount of air as Kris's turbo, but is standard bearing instead of ball-bearing, so it doesn't spool up quite as quickly.

what constitutes an interior? dash, seats, carpet? Don't play semantics sourass. My car sees more street miles than most.

You ever pop that new translator version in nate? I just ordered mine yesterday. Looking forward to being able to tune with some finesse now.

I got your message about the filter bracket too. I'll arrange that you can pick that up at your convenience.
