Bench racing, 9/17 Predictions Options

Spy has an auto 1g that I'm trying to get him to mod. Probably feel a lot like a Cyclone (S-10 turbo).

didn't those cyclones hold some kind of record for a while, like fastest production street truck... I think it is still in the top 5 followed by the new Ram SRT 10, Ford Lightning, Dodge Dakota R/T,

13 second quarters and sub 5 seconds to 60. Has to be some kind of record.

Great day today, beautiful weather. Hit my original goal, wish I would have had more time to tune. Waiting 45 minutes between runs due to a stock sidemount sux.

So I got into the 13s, happily, but I wanted a 13.6. Oh well, still on stock turbo, i/c, injectors. Lot's of room to improve. Ran at 15psi. Big props to Krack, for the event and for piloting the DD to a 14.2X. Awesome. Lots of fast cars, lots of cool people. Nate ran in the low 12s (again) and made the track an oil slick (again). Gross did the same, minus the oil slick part. Spy sucks, brought the T/A and did not run (scared). NCGalant ran well, minus anything resembling traction. I think he got a 13.3 at like 188 million MPH, with a 2.6 second 60'. Puts him in the 12s easily with good tires.

I don't know who all ran what, so please fill in the blanks!

A BIG thanks to Cordova Dragway everyone for coming out and struting your shiznit! Looks like there was a total of 26 total racers today.

It was fun! I was one of the slower guys out there but I got to beat down a Mustang or two. I was actually able to get the lil FWD DD down to a 14.1. Heres the slip:

MBC @ +/- 16psi, 2.5" pressbent cat back, 2.25 resinator in place of cat, free mods, and 110 octane. Everything else is stock and nearly full weight...Simple mixture and good results.

Brian From Slo Pony ran the quickest times which were in the 11.4 range! He lost the fastest car cash prize due to a loose battery cable though. Joe Descamps won the fastest car prize in a 1964 bracket racing GTO that he drove to a 12.0x win. Only one other car was able to break into the 11's today and that was in a 66ish Chevelle that looked like it should have been running 10's. He actually lost to the GTO, but did get to the finish line before Akamiami due to a problem at the launch.

It's strange how 12.0 seems to be a point of reconning for most of those that partake at these DSMCentral/Slo Pny events!

Anyway I had a great time look forward to seeing you all and then some next year. Having an entire manned dragstrip at your disposal for four hours is incredible!!!

What a blast. My favorite race was when I ran a 14.4 to the bracket racer that ran 11.965. If I hadn't cut a wicked 3.6 60' it would have been a hell of a race.

14.1 on that fwd is amazing marcus, you da man.

great event, hell of a lot of fun.

I can't find my slips but when I do I'll post my best. Overall, the car was solidly low 12's with a few flirts with better, but averaging solidly in the low/mid 12 range. Consistently performing well and staying together so I'm very pleased.

F&*$#ing deer...

Uncovered mangled lower intercooler piping from my inadvertent rally attempt keeping my boost down by 3-5psi by my guess. I couldn't even break into the 13s. Ah well, repairs and then this spring I'll be looking for low 13s again I guess!

You car was rolling hard man, def looked a lot better out of the hole. I could only muster a 12.830@110 damn the lack of boost and linelock to get those crappy drag radials heated.

It was fun. I got one run in. 12.05 @ 115

Next run put oil on the track. Ended my day and delayed everyone elses. Sorry 'bout that everybody. Too much crankcase pressure is a bad thing. Time to test some things out. On a positive note that 12.05 was run at only 24 psi. On the 112 oct. that I was running at the track I can usually run up to 30 psi without knocking depending on track temp. Guess I'll have to wait til either Vicary day or next year to break 11's.
