my brother called me today and he is looking for a DD that he can drive in the city (chicago that is) and still be able to haul his drum kit around. he is really looking for a hatchback because he has had good luck with them in the past. if anyone has a older VW or even and escort hatch that is pretty much what he is looking for. somewhere in the price range of a $1,000 or less and around 100k on the clock. fairly rust free ie no huge rust holes in the floor pan and a 5speed would be prefered and no major mechanical problems that i couldn't fix before he drives it back to chicago.

my brother found a 95 escort near where he lives in CHI and i think he is going to get that. it is the same price as the CRX. do you have any more info on the CRX i will pass it along to him.
