Ok so i am trying to order some rod and main bearings for my 6bolt motor but napa says that there are 2 different types of bearings for the 6 bolt. They said that in the middle of 1992 mitsu swiched to a different size. My question is is this true and if so where do you find the manufacture date on the engine and if not, what the hell are they talking about?

They are the confused ones. The change in mid 92 was from a 6 bolt engine to a 7 bolt engine. Just say your car is a '91.

In mid 92 they went to 7 bolt motors. If the original engine is in the car you can check the manufacture date on the door jam.

If you have a 6 bolt motor tell them its a 91. I would stick with the Mitsu bearings though. I've had issues with the others.

dude, you so knew the answer to this yourself.

That crank you have in the car is brand new right??? Never been turned? Otherwise you need to find out how much has been take off the rods and get the right bearings.

no i knew that. But i thought that they were saying that there were 2 different bearings sizes on the six bolt. I thought they switched to the 7 bolt in 94. Thanx for the info though. Marcus do you still have that stock set of bearings from mitsu for sale?

Anyone else love going to autozone and telling them you have three different cars just to make sure you get the right parts?
