Front or rear?
If on the front you may not need to separate the spindle or anything other than the wheel if I remember correctly. There is a well designed hole in the brake dust shield that will allow you to hammer the old stud out through. (Yes you guessed it...this is where the sledge hammer comes in). Once the old stud is out, insert the new stud through the same access hole. Draw the stud through the hole with an old lug nut. Use on larger nut or spacer against the rotor face and then thread on the old lug nut. Get a ratchet or impact and tighten the lug nut until the new lug is seated. Done deal. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

If you have a hard time getting the stud out with a sledge you can borrow my air hammer. It pops 'em right out.
