Al's now talking about making it anyway. Says he needs one more to make a commitment.

Personally, I'm not making a commitment cuz I'm pissed - and am very inclined to stay with Works. If he really makes it I might change my mind I suppose, but ... *Shrug*

Anyway, thought I'd pass it along.

My sentiments exactly. If this is his idea of customer service, I'll take my business elsewhere. He makes it seem like its all about what's convenient for him instead of what's convenient for his potential customers.

I've posted a question to AMS about what they can do at their new dyno and tuning. I'd love to steer clear of a $2400 solution (e.g. AEM) before even the dyno time but then I have to wonder about their expertise if there's a flash-based option that they've JUST started using ... sux 2b stuck in Peoria I guess ...

I got my ems for 1510 with the map sensor. add <350 for a wideband and you're set to go.

... or a flash for <400 ... *shrug* ... I understand there's value in the learning as well. I just need some sympathy for what I've spent the past month. LOL! A reflash from Works will be <100 w/shipping ...

oh, I definately sympathize. I've been spending far more than I wanted to on the evo as well.

I remember a time when I anticipated the day when I had enough disposable income to spend thousands on my vehicle. Now that it is possible, I find myself wishing it wasn't an option.

Not so much because of the cost, but because of your needs, I'd say a flash is more of a fit for your car. Standalones often introduce too many variables. Modest goals only require modest means.

But now there are more Evo sharks in the water ... unsure.gif

This was all about a custom tune being available, not another off-the shelf. And the reason I was motivated about that was because I knew there was at least some space in my prior tune as rich as she was running.

Does anyone know whether the installation of the AEM allows complete removal of the ECU? Say for shipping purposes ... biggrin.gif

yes, the AEM EMS is a replacement for the stock ecu, not just a piggyback.
