Who's there?

Rod.

Rod who?

The amazing bearing eating rod in the engine in the car that just won't give Natedogg a break.

No racing this weekend. I need a beer.

Jeebus Rob! Talk about pouring salt on the wound!

I'm actually pretty happy that the engine lasted this long considering its a stock bottom end that regularly saw 30 psi and 9000 RPM. It has lived almost 3 years beat on hard by the likes of me.

Sorry... I couldn't resist. ph34r.gif

Sounds like it's time for some forged pieces and parts anyway. biggthumpup.gif

Crate motor? You better be talking about a small block chevy. It's cheaper to rebuild it with forged pieces than buy a new shortblock from Mitsubishi.

In my personal opinion, some Eagle H-Beams, Wiseco pistons, ARP main studs, Clevite 77 bearings, and a knife-edged and balanced stock crank would be a good start. At least, those are the things that will be going in mine if "Rod" comes knocking on my door. biggthumpup.gif
