I've discovered that my AWD project car has been in some sort of a front end collision that has left it pretty messed up. At the shock towers it is spread approx. 1/2" and at the headlights it is almost 1 1/2" apart. I have been told by a fairly reliable source that it is fixable, but might need to be taken to a shop to have the frame straightened! I would imagine that this would not be very cheap. With money already sunk into a rebuild kit and machine work, along with some mods, I'm thinking I might be in over my head! I'm concidering three options:
1) Scrap the whole idea, sell everything off and pray that I can make enough to pay the bills that I've created with this nightmare of problems. 2) Keep the good stuff, sell or part out the AWD along with the FWD and go find a nice AWD rolling chassis to put all my stuff in. Again, pray that I can come out somewhere close to even on the deal. 3) Suck it up, get the car straightened, and finish project POS. I'm afraid that there is no way to get anything back out of this deal, other than the satisfaction of beating the piss out of the car for the pain and suffering I've gone through. Keep in mind the fact of limited funds available and the time factor. Ideas, comments, jokes all welcome... -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

fix the SOB and deal with what you've got. Keep in mind that dumping 5K on project POS still puts you $30,000.00 ahead of the pretty boys that are driving around in LanEvo's pretending that they've always been into 4G63's.
A spread apart front end will give you a wider wheelbase right? Maybe I should put my car on the torture rack too. -------------------- my cars breath smells like car food

Yea, but if I can find a decent rolling chassis for less than what it would cost to fix the AWD, wouldn't I be ahead? Plus I can sell parts out of the AWD and make some $$ back. Option #2 is becoming more and more tempting... Don't worry kris, this project is definately along the lines of a 144 special. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....
