I just wanted to get everyones opinion on which gear oil is the best for the awd drive train. Changing all the fluids on the new toy.

For the tranny you can't beat Pennzoil Syncromesh. For the tcase and diff I use Mobil1 synth 75W-90, but have also used Redline shock-proof and Coastal in the past without any problems. Whatever you use, just make sure that it says it is compatible with viscous type limited slip differentials.

Advance baby!

I have to say, at least from my experiences in the area, that Advance is the way to go. A lot friendlier service, better prices, and more stuff in stock. The only thing I haven't been able to get at advance is the Penzoil syncromesh...

Up here we don't have all that many Advances. I know of 2 and I know where a lot of auto stores are up here already.

We have by far more autozones, napas, and carquests, with a good number of places called Murray's which I don't think are that big in central IL yet.

I probably wouldn't ever go to Autozone, except for the fact that they have the a frequent shopper card which can pretty much get you up to 20 back for every 100 you spend. I've done this more times than I can recall over the past 9 months or so as I find that I spend a disproportionate amount of money at the autoparts stores. I know that I have over 10 - $20 cards saved up so far. I think I'm saving up for a shopping spree.
