So Saturday night the Big Silver EVO monster came out of hibernation to reclaim victory that his fire chicken brethren had lost the night before. It may have been a bit premature and the EVO may not have been up to it's full capacity. but that thing runs like a raped ape in any case!

Similar to the previous nights events, we went from a 30MPH roll on. I had some trouble keeping my car in line and in the mean time bogged the launch on the first race. The EVO seems to spool it's GT35R up instantaneously. Which is exactly how fast it put 1.5 car lengths on me. Once my car spooled I began what I hoped would be a hunt down. I was quite over-zealous running each gear head-on into the 9000RPM rev limiter. Letting it bounce a few times and then standing in my seat on the clutch pedal as I banged each consecutive gear. I gained nothing through the entire match. We ended as we had begun, with the Talon behind. With a better trained mind set and an even launch I felt confident that I could keep even with the 35R Monster EVO. The driver granted me another shot...

Second run:
This time I made sure that I was slowly accelerating up to our desired take off speed of 30mph upon the third honk. I found out later that the EVO driver graciously gave me the leave by waiting to floor it when he heard my stead spool-up. (Which is mind boggling how fast his 35R spools because I could hear both turbos singing in unison as we fired off the line.) The gift of leave may have given me a nose or maybe even a half car I can't remember, but I did get out a little. 3rd gear came on quick and with my mind on task I brought third home right before the rev limiter. I began to pull ahead of the EVO at this point...I know, I was shocked as everyone else. smile.gif I ran third out and shifted to forth just the same. through both these gears I could no longer see the EVO beside me, but I could see the glow from his headlights on the road and his engine screaming in my ear. I left nothing on the table, I gave everything it had on pump gas and I stayed in front! There was no need for fifth as the track was coming to an end. WE both began to decelerate and the adrenalyne began to overflow in me again! DAYUM! I beat the monster EVO and I had a 150lb witness to testify that I was not dreaming.

Keep in mind the EVO was running a make shift FMIC pipe coupling that may have been leaking and his boost gage was reading 22psi vs. my 24-25psi. Plus it's a 35R for crying out loud. A professional tune and a new coupling should turn the tables around totally.

Wooh, but what a night! What a weekend! The Talon has finally hit a level that I am proud of and it happens to still be holding together at this point. Things are good right now. biggthumpup.gif
