Ok, over the last couple years I have been through many DSM's and tons of parts. this year with the baby coming and the lack of track time I have decided to build this DSM and keep it for a while. I have been screwing myself over the years by building them the way i want and then selling them. So , its time to keep one and stop wasting time and money on someone elses ride. I call this,

"Project Automatic Inferno "

So to start the story lets give you guys an input on the new specimen!

1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
Glossy Red paint , body condition 9/10
Automatic Transmission ( for the crazy launches )
Black leather interior ( awesome condition )
stock CD player
A/T temp heads up display on rear view mirror

stock 6 bolt motor long gone, I have recently rebuilt yet another 6 bolt motor. Should be installing this motor this weekend. All machining done at Automotive machine here in Pekin! I plan on going with a more advanced buildup over the winter months, but for now i just want to get this thing on the road. Here is a short run through of the buildup:

6 bolt motor ( fully rebuilt with a topline rebuild kit )
bored .020 over
A/C is staying for the remainder of this year
KYB GR2 struts ( just installed yesterday, which was a pain in the ass )
SBR tubular header w/ WG tube
Evo III 16g turbo charger , fully ported
Turbosmart Ultragate 38mm wastegate
3" turbo back exhaust
Edelbrock Nitrous kit ( only using for purge and IC sprayer )
Punishment racing Fromt mount intercooler kit
98 eclipse GSX OEM wheels
walbro 255 lph High pressure fuel pump
Aeromotive AFPR w/ SBR SS return line and liquid filled psi gauge
external oil cooler w/ SS lines
external tranny fluid cooler w/ SS lines
new driveshaft carrier bearing
new ( revised ) MachV motorsports revised driveshaft Yoke
and other misc. items.

So my goals for the remainder of this year are to run in the 13's and drive it daily. This is totally possible and i have no doubts about doing it. So , you should be seeing my car on the roads in the next week or two at the most.

The beginning of the project is shortly explained because i really dont have much to talk about but it will get more into detail as the car is driving and modified. I have also gotten a few more DSMers around my neck of the woods, one being my brother who now owns my last GSX. he is currently waiting on the tranny to get back from a rebuild. So to all fellow dsmers, keep an eye out for the Kinney brothers!!

Sounds like a cool project. Is this being built with a shell that Tommy had at one time? I remember him talking about a red DSM roller with perfect black leather in it.

That would be called a flexplate.

Sorry, I don't have any, I'd donate them to the cause if I had any though. Good luck biggthumpup.gif
