I recently (monday) got re-tuned at ams
I had added these parts 272/272 cams ARP headstuds Ported Exhaust manifold Bigger 02 housing AMS FMIC Now ever since i got tuned if i floor in one gear rev to past 6K rpm's and then shift hard into the next gear the car stutters when i get back on the gas. So basically floor it 1st gear, shift into 2nd quickly, floor it again, it hesitates and falls on it's face than takes off again. AMS told me to put new spark plugs in, so i did. It didnt help at all. Now my only other option according to them is to bring it in. And i'm sure they'll take care of me, but i'm trying to see if there's a way i can avoid the drive back to chicago. Any one have any ideas on what could be wrong? Or can anyone log my car, as there's some people on evom that said they could look at 1-4th gear log and tell me what was going on. And i of course have no idea what i did with my cable. Thanks in advance! |

I really don't know. But my first guess might have to do with recirculation when you pull off boost quickly. Check for leaks and functionality of your BOV/Recirc valve.
Do you have any idle issues? Keep us posted. -------------------- ... she likes bein' forced ...

I got a boost leak check before the tune, but i guess it never hurts to look again.
It lopes at idle but thats because of the cams, otherwise it's perfect. Oh well, if i can't figure it out soon, ams is going to take care of it on friday. I just didnt want to have to drive back again. And if i shift at 6K rpm's it runs perfect, it's just if i shift at or above 7K there's a problem. |

Almost sounds like your throttle enrichment is set too rich. This boosts fuel output when the throttle is opened quickly to avoid a lean condition when a large load is put on the engine. A boost leak could also lead to this condition.
Are you still running the stock turbo? |

Yeah, it's still stock turbo. I'm going to try to another boost leak test after work today. I know the stock bov starts leaking at 25psi but i never see more than 23.
