OK, so when I was ditching the annoying and HEAVY automatic seatbelts that plague our cars I was left with a few options.
Harnesses- First and best choice but pricey. About $70 per harness from what I shopped Canadian DSM Seltbelts- Manual version of our pesky automatic ones. Impossible to find, no one wants to part with them and might as well pick up harnesses for the price. Junkyard Special- Turns out the belts from a Honda Accord are pretty much plug and play here. Haven't bolted them in yet but I've checked the fitment. Best part is the male end of the belt fits with the Stock Mitsu female plug end. So you can leave the plug-in bolted onto your stocker seats and just bolt in the single spool and 3 point belt. In addition to ditching the motors, it uses a single belt spool and less hardware so it's much lighter. Haven't had a chance to weigh the final assembly but I think it's pretty close to weight of a racing harness. Price- whatever you can negotiate. I was picking up some other parts so mine were nearly free of charge. I've been told that standard pricing is about $25 for the PAIR though normally. -------------------- |
