Marcus, Dan, and I are planning on going to the dragstrip tonight, weather permitting. Marcus is going to work on getting closer to beating the 14b DSM record. Dan will be running his bike and I will be tuning and morale support because my car is under the knife...again. Josh might be coming too, if he worked the bugs out of his car today. Anyone else interested in coming get a hold of Josh, Marcus, Dan, or I.

Hey Nate, are you still online? I wouldn't mind watching, or even making a few runs myself.

Yep the rain got us Friday night! Although it was sunny when we left and only started to sprinkle about 3/4's of the way there it literally poured on us by the time we were within 15-20 miles. The track was crawling with cars loading up and leaving, so we didn't wiss it by much! mad.gif

Thanks to those that suffered the 5 hours of driving and torrential rain all for nothing more than a road trip.

I did get one run in back at home though. Got another shot at the ol' CBR600F2 with performance carb jetting. The start was a little messed up and I took the jump on Spy. As expected, he caught me after I shifted to third and poroceeded to gain a 1.5 car lead on me. However I was able to hold that position all the way through forth before we let off. DANG that was exciting!!! I wouldn't call that a win, but I sure get the feeling that I might be able to embarass a couple unsuspecting sport bikes from here on out. wink.gif

That just made me wish I could have put the race gas in and thrown down at the track!

Marcus

I got there about 20 minutes after I ran into rain. Met a guy with a 91 AWD Talon from Indiana that broke both of his rear axles the last time he was at the US 41 strip.

They should let the AWD cars run in the rain, that's always fun to watch biggrin.gif

At least there was some wicked looking lightning to watch on the drive back home.

Heh heh...Dang that gets my adrenalyn pumping just reading through your point of view Spy!

Just to set the record straight, I'm sure that I'm no where near 120MPH at the 1/4 mile mark, but it was fun running 'er out to the top of fourth anyway. I am hoping for some good times at the track this year and that race helps me to keep hoping. Thanks for the support buddy!

How fast should that bike be through the quater? I've heard that in stock form they are good for about a 12.75, but I have no clue. What's amazing is that your 4000 lb. killer whale should be faster than your crotchrocket when the 13g's are in good running order!! Wow.

A buddy with a 96 GS-T and I were thinking of going to Charleston, IL tonight for a little 1/8 mile fun.

Looks like that's going to be rained out too.

Traction sucked bigtime. I had the third or fourth fastest time at the track, and I was almost a second off of my usual 8.1 1/8 mile time by running a 9.03. There was a GVR-4 there that was slaughtering everybody, and was only one of two cars to break into the 8's. FWD's were getting more 60' traction than most of the RWD cars, even the guys with slicks were spinning all over the place. Oh well, it was still a little entertaining.
