Integra woes Options

A buddy of mine, who owns a pretty nice 97 Integra GSR, modded with only a Tanabe Medalion cat-back and some body mods, is a big shit talker when it comes to my Laser. He drives a nice Honda that has always run strong, never broken, and well....I drive a DSM, nuff said.
So this friend of mine finally grows a pair and calls me out the other night. I figure what the hell, so I go home and jump in my car and we take off to a stoplight that jumps straight into a 55mph zone outside of town. With my recently upgraded suspension, I feel that I can launch alot higher than I used to be able to with my destroyed struts.
So we get there, hit the red, and I wait. He smiles, talks more smack, and I watch the lights on the right turning yellow. I take the car up to 4500 rpm, thinking that is a good launch zone (needless to say, I have yet to launch the car with the new suspension and I think I can now handle 4500rpm launches).
The light turns green, I let go, and watch my rpms fly and notice I am not moving forward very fast at all. I smell the burnt rubber, and I see the GSR snatch out in front of me. I let off the gas, hit it again, catch traction, and take off in chase. By this time, the GSR has 3+ carlengths on me, and I'm just starting to get back in it as I get halfway through second.
I'm pulling up hard as we hit 90mph, and I'm probably only a half carlength behind him when he hits his hazards. He won. I was furious. I wanted another shot. I know that my Laser is faster than his Integra, but he refuses to give me another try that night. And he has avoided me like the plauge since. I'm still kinda pissed.

My realization: I should definetly be launching lower. I'm FWD, and even with better suspension all I am going to do is break loose at anything over 3000.
But regardless, I'm still kinda pissed. He has been rubbing it in my face ever since. Damn GSR.
